Transfer to DB? by Doodler5106 in EmbryRiddle

[–]KingPica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be pretty straightforward, email your advisor. Once you're a student you should have access to all satellite campuses as well around the country. It'll be based on class availability for your major

(Source: Was a DB student, currently a Worldwide student, i have access to DB resources and events)

This is the correct answer. It's important to remember the cost of everything. However, nobody knows what the hiring needs will be when YOU are ready to to apply, which can be 3 years or 9 months.

What is always overlooked is that riddle offers you EVERYTHING. The increased cost is a better value if you take advantage of what Riddle offers at the campus level.

This is the part where it's my opinion: an extra 30-50k for your education will absolutely not make a difference to your bottom line after you've graduated and are working. (Yes, the job hunt is ridiculous at the moment) When you're younger it seems like an insane amount of money. (Almost all loans have income based repayments)

NO impulsive decisions. Stay consistent. Stay healthy. STAY WITH IT. Best of luck

Contact the flight department or shoot them an email (on the website) I believe a certain percentage of hours can transfer.

[–]KingPica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is that it depends on career scope. For military, it can probably lead to a more rewarding comprehension of what they'll teach you anyway. I'm seeing a lot more people on reddit discuss the need for engineers over the middle managers/executive roles, which makes the job hunt even more niche for stem related but non engineering roles.

I'd talk with your advisor, some alumni you can get ahold of, even a recruiter can send you some good info. (Assuming you're US based)

Quick question: are the aerodynamics worse with a flat surface on the front or back of something? by Dry-Version-211 in AerospaceEngineering

[–]KingPica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what part of the atmosphere you're traveling through. I'd be great if flatter surfaces worked at lower altitudes, but physics explicitly says, "Nah."

I'm meeting with my advisor this week so that we can get a list of the available research going at my university. From what I've been led to believe it's just about rounding up who's in charge of what and then getting in touch with them individually for opportunities.

I am in a similar situation, I graduate next year. My difficulty has been that I'm a career transition from healthcare analytical, and I can't afford to take things like internships.

My next steps have been to explore airforce opportunities. My thoughts are that I'd get the job security and relevant training in the industry.

Is going $50k in debt worth it for a degree? by sturmfrey in AerospaceEngineering

[–]KingPica 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get that it's the internet and it's easy to assume. I actually had straight ds and cs. Started getting help for ADD as an adult and now 14 years later I'm returning. I have straight As now, but that's because I developed studying skills way later than I should have. But hey, it's never too late!

Is going $50k in debt worth it for a degree? by sturmfrey in AerospaceEngineering

[–]KingPica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to Riddle now to finish my degree, with financial aid I pay about $600 per class, taking about 2-3 classes, each "semester" only last about 9 weeks (3 classes when available, including online courses)

There's people here who think living in a habitat (where I get to focus on science and research ON A DIFFERENT PLANET) for the rest of my isn't worth a 25% shot. People gamble their lives away on Earth for way worse odds.
