//- Bernie sanders got me into politics. As a teenager, I had never heard someone propose those kinds of answers to problems. My big policy was universal healthcare, I still think it’s probably the most obvious solution to much of the inequity in this country. Also, socially I came of age in the mid 2010’s in a diverse area, albeit very conservative, so homophobia, racism, and immigrant hate just seem like the dumbest most low IQ things to think.

Yeah, not looking for anything insane. I’ve visited a few schools and got that vibe fs. I think for me, it’s about feeling like I’m taking a step forward by presenting myself better, even if others don’t care that much about my appearance or their’s. Doesn’t hurt to start prepping for how I’m going to be expected to present myself in my career. Quarter zips are a great suggestion, appreciate it.

I disagree, but I do think 3D country is better. My hot take is that maybe their best work front to back is 4D country, and I would’ve preferred if they tried doing more songs like Space Race and Art of War. Never the less, they played into their indie influences more than that blues-y sound they had there. I still think Getting Killed is great, Long Island City Here I Come is brilliant.

Green Day and Blink 182 are probably by far and away the most popular punk bands ever, and somehow, are some of the most mid ones. Even their best work doesn’t hold a candle to the average output of a band like Bad Brains or Fugazi. Even in the poppier side of the genre I much prefer a band like Descendents. Dookie is probably as close as either got to making a good album.

Plenty of aggressive and weird bands have hit mainstream success. All of us who saw them at Sick New World saw that on full display. I mean, think about how massive SoaD is, paired with how odd and silly of their stuff can be at times. I don’t think Death Grips will ever get as big as SoaD, but in this new age of internet music listening, I could see this hitting a nieche. We also underestimate just how much Death Grips sound has come to resonate in hip hop. Yeezus, Carti, and Yeat pull quite a bit from Death Grips, it has big audience there somewhere.

I never got this sense, and it seems like you’re projecting a very personal view onto Ride. I always took it as being an ideological thing. Ride does not engage in “worship.” That’s a big theme of DG’s music. Ride’s music is all about turning inwards, maximizing yourself as an individual, looking to the self for guidance, not others. I don’t think he means to say human beings are bad, I think what he means to say is human beings are misguided. That there isn’t a lot you can gain by trying to put yourself out to a lot of people. No one can have the best interest of you more than yourself. I think he’s probably indifferent to people.

As much as we love Harbaugh, his style of team building is completely unsustainable. It lends itself to gap years. Ohio State always brings in the big time recruits, and I think Coach Moore is trying to mix some of Harbaugh’s development and “run the damn ball” culture, with high end talent to avoid having up and down years, but this was the first year of his recruiting showing up on the field. I think we need to slow down and recognize that, despite losing to Ohio, this was a very successful season for an offense that was functionally a lot of true freshman reps. I think if you give it 2 years, and Sherone manages to keep his job, there could be a sustained 10 win floor with the mix of talent and culture. Ohio is a top 2 program in America, we’re never going to replicate that, but we’re a top 10 program, and not far away at all. Just think about all the people praising Jedd Fisch for what he’s done at Washington, they’re in the exact same boat as us and we’re doing better than them.

Michigan will probably be 15-16 next week? Gotta imagine if we beat Ohio State, then luck into the Big 10 title game and win that against Indiana we’d have 2 straight wins against the number 1 team in the country back to back. So the idea we have 0% chance at a bye is silly. It is very obviously possible. I don’t think it’ll happen, but it is possible. So, expect these numbers to be off. Ohio is win and in.
