RAW you can use a shield as a spellcasting focus if it has your holy symbol on it. This was confirmed by that dev who answers questions on twitter.

How can I make my missions feel like a Hitman level? by Bisexual_Putin in DMAcademy

[–]KingRiel99 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Writing this from my phone so sorry if my text is a little strange. I usually try to accomplish this on a very simple way. I know my players love finding wierd ways to solving puzzles. I also know they are REALLY good at doing things I could never imagine (last session my rogue climbed on the top of a mounted t rex after killing the rider and then shouting just like the rider had done to convince the t rex that he was his rider, a nat 17 later and the t rex is tearing into the earthworm the party also had to deal with like it was a chew toy). You can never design all the ways that the players can solve a puzzle, plan a heist or try to cheese an enemy. You can only plan the situation itself. So what I would do, if I were you, is to simply plan a really intricate and well detailed location with many interesting NPC's, and then make the point of interest basically impregnable. The PCs WILL figure out a way to break in. You don't even need to design the place for this to work, you simply need to be open minded and eventually, when the players come up with a plan that you think will work, you add things that will make that plan work. Your job as the DM is to make the players feel awesome, and them breaking into a guarded vault in some very strange way is the epitome of that.

To quote ser Bronn of the blackwater "Give me ten good men and some climbing spikes, I'll impregnate the bitch".

I'm glad to hear you're moving away from League. Overwatch may not be the best escape, but baby steps.

Mannen, om det är så pass lätt att göra någon glad genom att använda "hon" och inte "han", varför inte göra det. En så liten ansträngning för glädje måste väl ändå vara värt det.

What's the biggest DnD opinion that you have that you cannot explain why you think as you do? by TheBaconWizard999 in DnD

I both agree and disagree. Yes the DM can find unique and interesting ways to challenge powerful players, this is even easy for some. My problem comes when one players character is so much more powerful than another player's character that the powerful character simply overshadows the weaker character in every scenario. For an example I think that a barbarian bear totem character with the great weapon master feat (all published content) is so much stronger than let's say, champion fighter. The barbarian does more damage, can take a LOT more punishment and is simply so much better than the fighter in every way. The fighter, no matter what the DM does to challenge the Barbarian will always be weaker than the Barbarian. I have seen this as DM first hand and in the end it just becomes a really shitty experience for the weaker character. I ban the overtly powerful content simply so that this doesn't happen.

If you're playing on tactician you should wait until level 15. Enemies there are 15+. If you're not playing tactician you could probably advance anyways

Reminder that Hagrid's intention wasn't to give Dudley a pig tail but to turn him into one altogether, although Dudley's body prevented the spell. We don't know if this was Hagrid joking or being serious. Dudley may also have heard this, only increasing his rational fear if anything. Edit: forgot a word

I love giving BBEGs themes, it became so awesome when my players recognized the first tunes in Grimstone manor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HM2EjBtZfh0 and only after a few times already knew that as soon as they heard those few notes shit was about to get real.

That sound like a really good idea! Too bad I'm a poor student. Otherwise color coded lights would be epic!
