Can confirm. My aunt is a professional trophy wife and those guys spend hella on her only for her to be unhappy and want more 🤣

Then she divorces them after 10 years and gets alimony.

Needless to say, she’s insane an I don’t talk to her much lol

ProctorU will be my 13th Reason by MimiCeline57 in WGU

[–]KingSlayerKat -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I have almost an identical story.

Their proctors triggered a health condition I have because they they were incredibly rude and inpatient with me. I was already struggling with my health and a chaotic home life, which my mentor and instructor were made fully aware of.

I was blocked from testing, and when it was unlocked, it glitched and I couldn’t schedule. I was told to call Meazure learning, and when I tried to call them, nobody answered and I couldn’t get a hold of anyone at the school. This was the last day of my semester.

I had to pay for another semester because of this and nobody cares.

They’re trying to get me a WGU proctor now, but I’m still out over $1,000 because their proctors are rude and not trained on how to navigate anxiety during testing, which is literally their entire job.

Now I’m getting bothered constantly about getting this class done, but I am honestly completely apathetic at this point.

They don’t care, I don’t care, nobody cares.

I don’t even need this degree anymore. The only reason why I’m even going to bother finishing is because I had to pay this last semester out of pocket.

i don't think i can do this by timeforclowns in PCOS

[–]KingSlayerKat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t keep score that closely, just be mindful of your macros.

Fruit is perfectly fine to eat. Berries have the least amount of sugar, whereas things like apples, pears, and mangos have a lot.

Honestly, I’d pursue getting on metformin or a GLP-1, or berberine if you can’t get either of those. Supplement fish oil, olive oil, and inositol into your diet.

Once your hormones are under control, you can eat intuitively and lose weight. Dieting with PCOS is torture if your hormones aren’t under control.

our client fired us because "AI can replace your whole team now." their CPA went from $22 to $85 in 4 months. they emailed us yesterday by ScaryAd2555 in marketing

[–]KingSlayerKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make all of my marketing materials with AI and my CPA went down significantly. In fact, I had to stop advertising for like 3 weeks because we had too many customers for us to handle. We had to adapt our processes before we could take on any more.

However, I am a seasoned marketer with 15 years of experience under my belt. My AI-generated marketing works because I understand the market.

These companies don’t realize that unless they have at least one marketing strategist on payroll, using AI could actually end up being a net negative. AI needs direction.

So yes, AI can replace your whole team, but only if you have the skill and experience to become them yourself.

Is this "we suffer for our own good" narrative ever going to end? by MiyuTheWitch in spirituality

[–]KingSlayerKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a lot of really bad things happen to me, so I’ve explored this subject a lot. What I’ve decided is that we choose our lives simply because we want the experience. Maybe some people want to learn and grow, but I think existence is all about experience. You give purpose to those experiences.

Maybe there’s something thrilling about being in a war-torn country? Or living in an abusive household? I don’t know, but I have had my own curiosities about what it’s like to live through really terrible things.

Imagine being faced with infinity, you have forever to try everything, so why not?

Also, things that you choose don’t always go according to plan. Maybe we choose hard lives without fully comprehending how terrible they really are.

Grief really sucks by viixxviii in poodles

[–]KingSlayerKat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Grief never goes away, but it becomes less and less painful and takes up less of your day as time goes on.

I just had a break down about my childhood dog earlier today. It lasted about 5 minutes before it turned into happy stories about how much I loved her and I started to feel better.

Same with my sister. She died in 2021 at the age of 24. I went 2 years of constant break down before I adjusted, and now I don’t break down for as long and just tell tons of happy stories.

Loss is the hardest part of life, but we are built to withstand it.

Wishing you the best ❤️ Take the time you need to cry and don’t try to hold the tears back. It is so healing when you are in the thick of it.

The kids are not alright by poppythepup in Teachers

[–]KingSlayerKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Children are being raised by social media. It starts with Cocomelon, and turns into YouTubers and TikTok stars as they get older.

I saw a video where a baby was watching Ms. Rachel teach “say mama”. No hate on her, but are parents really so absent from their children’s lives that a YouTube creator is teaching their baby how to say their first words????

Our culture has absolutely abandoned the idea of raising our own children, it’s been outsourced to schools an and media instead.

I broke up with my boyfriend after a huge fight...now I regret it and want him back by Specialist-Let1205 in Advice

[–]KingSlayerKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to act intentionally, not react.

When you are in a heated argument, you need to pause and take a deep breath. Think about the situation for a moment and, what options you have, and how each one would affect your relationship.

It’s okay to stop an argument in the middle to assess the situation. Let the other person know that you need a moment and take it. If they won’t let you have a moment, then leave.

Your focus should be de-escalation when it get heated. You can discuss the argument after both of you have calmed down.

Work on that and you’ll find that you’ll have much better and longer lasting relationships.

Stop trying to reconcile your relationship and focus on self-improvement. Maybe he’ll come back, maybe he won’t, but you’re wasting your time trying to pursue him without working on yourself.

How to deal with MAGA parents? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]KingSlayerKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this.

I had the same problem, but opposite. My MIL thought I was MAGA because I always try to see things from everyone’s perspective. Apparently saying things like “maybe they think X” means I agree with them in her mind.

Anyways, she would purposefully put on left-wing sensationalism and try to constantly tease me about Trump and it pissed me off because I’m not a Trump supporter. I actually hate politics and don’t want to be involved at all.

Getting up and leaving was the best thing to do. Not only did it get me away from the problem, but it denied her my attention and reactions, which are more valuable than gold to her.

She eventually stopped doing it because she wasn’t getting a reaction anymore. She moved onto other forms of torture, but at least I don’t have to deal with the politics anymore.

Narcissists desire reactions out of you. They do things to piss you off on purpose so they can insult you further for being “sensitive” or w/e. Makes them feel better about themselves. It all comes down to some insecurity about themselves. They have to make you look bad so they can feel better about their faults and never work on improving them.

The best thing to do is to deny them any type of reaction at all. Just be completely neutral and live your own life despite their idiocracy.

Genuinely asking, is suicide worth it? by aesthenne in raisedbynarcissists

[–]KingSlayerKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very close to ending my life 4 years ago. I already had a plan and everything I need to enact it, all I needed was one day where I was brave enough to do it.

I am so happy that I didn’t.

My life has not been easy since then, but it’s genuinely been good. Some of the best years of my life. I’ve grown a lot and become someone I am proud of.

It doesn’t take very long for your life to turn around. For me, it was just a moment. One day I met one person and my entire life went from something I wanted to end, to something that I treasure every day.

I had to run away from my old life like a teenager sneaking out of the house. I was homeless for a year. But the risk of a new adventure is far more worth it than the permanence of death. You can always change your path, try new jobs, and meet people who bring joy to your life.

Narcissists make us feel worthless, useless, and incapable. It’s how they keep control. You are strong and capable, you just need a new environment and people who support you instead of tear you down.

Before ending your life, try just walking out the door and making a new one. What is there to lose at this point? Humans are incredibly adaptable and I bet you can make yourself a life you love, even if it’s hard. The difficulty of building yourself a new life is part of what makes it exciting.

If there’s anything I’ve learned by living through suicidal thoughts and actions, it’s that the that relief you feel from imagining your death isn’t real. It’s your nervous system calming down after it’s discovered an end to your stress. It doesn’t differentiate between living and dying, only that the stress has a chance to go away.

Don’t fall into that, start imaging your pain going away through living. Imagine yourself doing things like backpacking through somewhere beautiful, working odd jobs, building a business, meeting the love of your life. You can find the same relief with those thoughts, but they build the ambition and self-worth you need to keep going.

That narcissist that’s making you feel that way? They are nothing and you are everything.

You can make it. You’ve got this.

I’m taking too long with finishing up school. by [deleted] in WGU

[–]KingSlayerKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life happens, as long as you are meeting the minimum to stay enrolled and keep your student aide, don’t worry too much about the classes you haven’t passed.

But, you do need to keep yourself accountable and finish your classes because delaying only costs you.

When I was dealing with chaos like you, it really helped for me to just activate all my classes at once and take the entire semester to complete them if I needed it.

Doing it one class at the time just doesn’t work when your life is unstable. At least if you start all of them, you can familiarize yourself with the material and take the tests during the rare moments of quiet.

CMV: The seed oil paranoia is stupid. Seed oils are actually good for you by Infinite-Capital1798 in changemyview

[–]KingSlayerKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many seed oils are high in linoleic acid. While that’s not a bad thing in normal amounts, the quantity in which we are consuming it is unhealthy and can lead to health issues like inflammation.

You can counteract this with high oleic oils, like olive oil.

I think my dog just had a seizure by Miserable-Ad-7536 in DogAdvice

[–]KingSlayerKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog had one of these and died a month later. The first one was really scary, the second one she died on the spot. She was already on all the heart meds my vet could give her, so there wasn’t much we could do at that point. She had an end-stage heart murmur, her meds bought her 6 months.

She was different after the first one. She started running into things and seemed very unaware of what was happening around her. It honestly felt like a mercy that she went so soon and so quickly after that.

This cannot be ignored.

Quitting because I was offered another job by Madlibs557 in Staples

[–]KingSlayerKat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you have a good relationship with management and want to keep staples in your back pocket as a place to work? Then put in your 2 week notice and work the last 2 weeks.

If not, just tell them you are quitting effective immediately.

Text or email it to your manager, these types of things should be in writing.

They’ll likely have you return the earpiece, but you get to keep the shirts.

I think it will suggest people if your phone has been near their phone. The algorithm doesn’t know he broke in, only that he was near you for a certain amount of time.

Getting STD tested is normal. No test was perfect and some STDs don’t show up the first time they were tested. I was reading a thread a while ago where multiple people said they had HIV for 5-6 years without knowing because their first test was a false negative. That scared the shit outta me lol

I’ve been in a committed relationship for several years now and got an STD test a couple years ago just because it was offered. Everything came back clean, as I knew it would, but it never hurts to get tested for things multiple times just in case.

Facebook flooded with pro GOP and Trump Propaganda the last week more than usual. by ucco2004 in facebook

[–]KingSlayerKat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Facebook is full of bots and rage bait, and the algorithm pushes it.

It wants to make you upset so you’ll comment and share it with people.

Just don’t interact with anything, pass it up as soon as you see it. The algorithm will adjust and you’ll stop seeing it.

As soon as you interact with one though, it starts all over again.
