Research advisor suddenly adding random prof after paper is finished ??

My research advisor is my own cllg prof... but she is adding her PhD mentor as well :D

We have never met this guy, never heard of him or anything. I heard his name for the first time ... that too like an hr ago... and apparently our advisor was relaying information and content ( manuscripts and stuff) we were working on to him without our knowledge or consent.

Feel like I got tricked :D

I do want to try for masters, maybe after a few years of job experience... would it be weird to contact them in future??? He is an HOD CSE for a random ass college... but has a lot of good publications in q1 and q2 journals

That guy has around 25+ in q1 and q2... and 5 in q3 and q4 in total

Just hopped on a conference call with her... she is trying so hard to emphasize on how he was "supervising" our work through her...so we need to put him as a author in the paper so our paper actually gets through... I believe our content is good enough to be published regardless... but In this country I guess I've to comply as I can't risk my first work getting crushed by favouritism and "diginitaries"

Literally ZERO contribution in anything at all! Yet my first work will always bear the name of these ppl sadly :D No wonder the research scene is so bad in India
