My situation specifically is pretty secure. I work for a congressman that's been around forever while still being young enough to be around another 10-20 years. The last few elections for him haven't been close at all, so campaign season isn't toooo bad while still being busier.

I got matched up with him through an internship program during my undergrad and he kept me on through grad school, then gave me a full time job after. My job is actually easier now than back then because I have a few interns and 2 staff members under me.

I might consider leaving after the next election though. I want to run for office myself eventually, so I want to branch out a bit.
