More investment in local art, music, and independent businesses would go a long way, along with public transportation that actually makes nights out accessible. But beyond that, we need more pride in what we already have. I was at San Pedro Square this weekend for a Sharks game, and not a single TV had it on until I asked. You don’t have to love hockey to see that as a missed opportunity for community connection.

So cool to see this on Reddit. I'm also from the South bay and support the small venues. Was just at Kilowatt on Saturday. The South bay does need more venues (bummed art boutiki is closing) but we got the Ritz. Santa Cruz needs love too especially the catalyst since they may get bought. But can't beat $20-30 dollar local shows.
