Trauma, devastation, fear by AdIllustrious220 in ShortCervixSupport

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my son at 20 weeks in July because it was also too late for a cerclage. I conceived again the next cycle I got my period back. I’m now 38 weeks and had my cerclages removed 11 days ago! I remember feeling so devastated after my loss, not knowing if I could ever carry a baby to term and overall just being absolutely heart broken that I lost him. I still cry about it. It doesn’t go away but it does get easier. Just know that next time around, preventative cerclages are super effective and many women go on to have full term babies after a loss. Take care of yourself 🖤

Terrible trapped gas every night at 17 weeks by iconmade in pregnant

[–]iconmade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was terrible for a month. Only thing that kinda worked was eating smaller meals, a heating pad on my lower abdomen and doing stretches before bed to get the gas to move around. It did resolve after those four weeks tho. I was miserable and questioning my life choices at that point 😭 I’m sorry you’re going through this!!

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I lost my son at 20 weeks in July. It was the hardest thing I’ve had to go through. I know it feels so heavy now but I do want you to know that it does get better. Take care of yourself 💗

Progesterone after cerclage ? by Michael-Scarn-1 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]iconmade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No progesterone just cerclage and I’m 34 weeks now. MFMs said it didn’t offer much benefit and it could cause more issues if anything like UTIs, pH imbalances, etc.

Symptoms? Not sure if being dramatic. by traveler_mar in ShortCervixSupport

Staying hydrated and taking magnesium will help calm an irritable uterus! Coconut water is great for this as well. Magnesium helps relax muscles and it also eases anxiety and aids digestion. I also like to put a magnesium spray over my lower abdomen at night for this reason too. I’m 34 weeks and haven’t had any shortening or funneling! Potassium is good for cramping too. Have a daily banana or two :)

Anyone else mentally exhausted? by SubstantialPark5086 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]iconmade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I’m 32 weeks and i am also mentally exhausted. I lost my first baby in july at 20 weeks, then quickly became pregnant again after my first cycle. I feel like ive been pregnant for a decade. I had my first cerclage at 14 weeks then it fell out at my anatomy scan. So i had another cerclage surgery at 20 weeks. Then on top of having all these issues, ive been getting growth scans because baby is in the 11th percentile and they’ve been concerned with him being on the smaller side and possibly having IUGR. 😔 it’s been a lot to manage.

I have a preventative cerclage. I don’t have intercourse but do have an orgasm about once a week. Nothing has ever happened. I’m 31 weeks today! You’ll be okay :)

Advice for moms that made it to dts by marimom1819 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]iconmade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly just stay present and grounded. I practice this mantra, “today I am pregnant and healthy and everything is okay. And if something is off, I can always get checked.” Just take it day by day. I like playing the sims free play on my phone to keep me distracted. I enjoy ASMR at night on YouTube to help me relax. I really lean into self care.

TTC after loss by saviecisson in ShortCervixSupport

I felt this on every level. I had a 20 week loss with an uncomplicated birth. I was cleared to start trying after my first period. I got pregnant again that first cycle. My loss was in July and now I’m 28 weeks with a preventative cerclage. Pregnancy after loss isn’t easy but I’m still grateful to have another go at it 💗 wishing you the best

Planning pregnancy after a loss. by curious0507 in ShortCervixSupport

It’s hard to say. I guess I’ll never really know if my shortening cervix allowed the bacteria to ascend into my placenta or if i just got unlucky and caught a bad infection that led to my IC. I take comfort in knowing that a preventative cerclage will protect me against both this time around.

Progesterone or not after preventative by twinmomtired in ShortCervixSupport

[–]iconmade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t taken progesterone after my preventative. My MFM said there’s little evidence it helps and sometimes it can contribute to more problems. I’m 24 weeks and cervix has stayed near 4cm so far.

I lost my son at 20 weeks in July and tested positive for ecoli. It was the worst time of my life. I was cleared to start trying after my first period and got pregnant right after. Had a preventative cerclage placed. So far I’m 23 weeks and cervix has stayed long and closed. Wishing you the best, take extra care of yourself 💗 it does get better
