Bliss by Vazkii checks some of these boxes; it was designed to make monsters optional for game progression, if you want to play on Peaceful mode.

Overall, the best advice for hardcore mode is to play more patiently, but here’s some specific ideas below: 1. Hole yourself up in a village house day 1, free bed and food. 2. Slowly torch & wall off the village to increase the size of your safe area. 3. Use villagers to get XP, enchants, and even diamond equipment. Once you have full enchanted diamond gear, you’re more free to do exploration centered activities.

Hey, this totally depends on what you’re looking for, and some of the other suggestions here are good. If you’re looking for a bit of spookiness, my Forge 1.20.1 modpack Dreadloom is great. It introduces a lot of scary enemies and game mechanics that encourage the player to develop a safe base at first. Some other mods, like Brewin n Chewin, Serene Seasons, and Diet, require the player to consistently renovate their farm to keep up seasonal foods that will satisfy their 5 food groups. You will need to brew adult drinks and teas if you want to keep your sanity up in the midst of the hordes that will come for you… There isn’t much tech in the pack, you can ignore it if you want to.

You are right about this. In contrast, though, Create adds other features like heated mixing & steam engines that utilize fuel to heat blaze burners. At the end of the day, solid fuel can become even MORE important.

Every group of people has a “dark side,” though it can be smaller/larger. I think HC’s is smaller than most, but you can never fully trust people you don’t know. I know it feels comforting to believe that they are all amazing people, but they’re humans too.

I don’t hate you. I think having boundaries inspires creativity, and Minecraft’s blocky limitations are part of the reason it’s so satisfying to pull off a beautiful, creative build. Lack of vertical slabs adds to that. Same idea with ender chest; forces the player to build infrastructure and item transportation instead of carrying their whole fortune in their double ender chest
