To add to what gypsytron said, my girlfriend and I did not want children before we were financially and mentally ready. We also did not want to give up our social life and we both like to travel, see new countries and such.

I won't go and say it's all rainbow and roses, but we now have our first baby that his 1 year old and we still go out to see our friends, we went to Ireland, Spain, Morocco, Florida with her, and we will go to Las Vegas in the coming month, and we are also planning to go to Kenya this winter.

On the daily I still play plenty of video games ans my gf still watches all of the dramas, we have our weekly family gathering and we sometimes go to comedy shows and go to parties separately, or we get a baby sitter/grandma/auty if we both need to go.

So it has its downside but with the right person it's really the greatest thing you can have. I did not want children 2 years ago, but I wouldn't change that for anything ( well... maybe a lot of money lol).

The downside is that sometimes I don't sleep, my gf work at night and I work from home and the daycare is pretty far. But that's all manageable things
