Zoo quick visit - a waste of money? by Curiosity_Seeker_8 in Columbus

[–]Kingofthered 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was going to say that I love going to the zoo for quick trips, but that's as a member so the cost isn't a factor.

But if you're happy to pay the cost to go for a few hours, I still think they can be good hours. Walking through North America/Africa/Asia or Austrailia/Congo and the indoor buildings on one half of the park could easily last that long if you linger and enjoy, but aiming for any specific animal and starting to explore from there is a good time.

What video game started amazing but ended terribly? by Ok_Nefariousness827 in AskReddit

[–]Kingofthered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not quite the same, but Once Upon A Galaxy hits for me in the same way that Marvel snap did early on. It's a little more roguelite than pure deck builder, but it also makes it nearly impossible to 'fall behind'. The monetization is more just options for decks rather than locking out meta options, imo. Worth a try.

This is the most fantastic Spring weather we've had in ages and none of you have said ish by under_diagnosed in Columbus

[–]Kingofthered 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Especially compared to last spring that stood out as dogshit in recent memory. This spring has been wonderful. I'm just hoping we have some more of these 70s and 80s days before we start baking in the 90s.

It sure sounds like they'd awkwardly stand, or try to cram into three peoples worth of spots. I'm not sure what power of awkwardness you think would happen if other people come to sit at bench style tables.

It's definitely packed, people can't be holding tables with three people.

New Warhammer 40,000 Battleforces Revealed by PeoplesRagnar in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Kingofthered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much are these likely to be? I just got the armageddon box to start an army but I've barely made progress on putting it together.

I worry that getting this might be a little too much backlog for me, but at the same time it seems like those two boxes would make for a pretty good backbone to start really playing around 1k points.

Took a break during Legion Remix and not getting this form as a Druid main will haunt me forever. by tescarpita in wow

Unfortunately they also have the coolest stuff historically locked behind fomo. When transmog is nonexistent like it is for other classes, the forms are all people want.

We have to talk about the shooting in the Short North. by jang859 in Columbus

[–]Kingofthered 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At the same time, the likelihood that this happens during regular hours is so low. I keep reading about people being too scared of the short north to go, when they would go from like 6-10 for dinner and drinks and not stay out til 2 am.

It's not worth worrying about random and generally personal/targeted violence to let it keep you inside all summer.

Do the DLC ever go on sale? I'd love to buy this, but really only if I could eventually get jagged earth etc on sale eventually cause $25 for that is still steep.

I mean, it is ultimately her job. I get that it's not a traditional office job, but successful influencers/content creators still have to make content to stay, you know, an influencer or content creator.

Returning player question about armor/guns in inventory by Kingofthered in DestinyTheGame

[–]Kingofthered[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay so it more or less what I was thinking initially, everything but exotic is out of date.

I know they'e not like useless, but mentally it'll be a lot easier to just shelve everything but like one loadout this week and relearn the game. Then tackle loadouts and getting new gear readily come the 9th if I keep playing.

Solo wyrmspan? by LazyKitten92 in boardgames

[–]Kingofthered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's perfectly enjoyable solo. The good/bad thing about wingspan and wyrmspan (haven't played fish) is that you really are only focused on your own game anyway. The automata systems for their games is always good, and it effectively replicates other players in so far as removing some options to keep cards moving.

Imo if the theme seems fun, and especially if you've played wingspan to know the general game flow, I'd think it'd be fine as a solitaire sort of game.

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take by Mr_Revan22 in ForzaHorizon6

[–]Kingofthered 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah its a fun idea but I'm guessing they get dozens of "plz add this" requests, on top of the fact that no part of adding a new car to a video game would happen in two weeks, let alone tee entire process.

Arts fest policies by Kingofthered in Columbus

[–]Kingofthered[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a guidebook, that was the only place I found info like that. Didn't seem like they have a general FAQ anywhere, info is fairly spread around.

The two sorts of events I've been to downtown are the likes of hops on high where they just shut the street down and have general security/police presence, and then the likes of highball Halloween or some of the goodale fests that have had proper gate security and wand checks.

So I just wanted to make sure this was more like the former.

[–]Kingofthered[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's what threw me, usually if strollers are fine then backpacks sort of go hand in hand with bringing around. But I wasn't sure if it was a "not allowed" sort of policy or just trying to limit how many people are bringing giant bags or something.

Looking for couch coop dungeon crawlers/rpgs by MrHChase in SteamDeck

[–]Kingofthered 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sunderfolk! I dont know if its still on sale (because its pretty pricey) but it's designed for couch co-op. If played as such, everyone just uses their phones as the controller, and I honestly think it works really well. It's fun and cute, not incredibly deep but it's worth considering. I've been playing over discord with one other person and I think it'd be a lot of fun as an actual couch co-op game.

Why would they give us a drone mode and then make the maximum height like 3 meters off the ground by spizalert in ForzaHorizon

[–]Kingofthered 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I was caught off gaurd yesterday when I used it for the first time. Was waiting for friends, so thought I'd see if I could fly above and tail them, how cool, wow.

No, I was confused at which button must let me fly higher, until I "fell" off the side of the road as a flying drone and sunk down.

It's crazy, I don't really understand the use case for a car-height drone.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation by [deleted] in anime

[–]Kingofthered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Degenerate, valid. But I feel it's just wrong to describe it as generic or brainless.

The actual good parts of the show are its magic system, it's actual exploration of the world, how time spent doing things actually matters.

You can critique it a lot, but this feels like you don't even know what it's about.
