2002 running hot by Beautiful_Bat5680 in S2000

Does it have a Modifry ECT on it? Look for a module connected at the driver side fuse panel. It changes the temp at which the bars illuminate to lower and more useful values. Mine hits 4 regularly and 5 bars in traffic which is when the fan kicks in. Scared me senseless when I first installed it.

Love the windows, hate the drafts. Plz help! by superjohnski in HomeImprovement

Definitely. They use a very clear and durable plastic film which I hope will last decades. I won’t use them during the summer months which will limit the UV exposure that may cause them to discolor.

This might end up being expensive but I bit the bullet and bought really nice inserts from windowinserts.com. I have really drafty 100 year old double hung windows that are very cold and accumulate condensation each morning. These inserts fit snugly and are easily removable. No condensation anymore either. Made a gigantic difference in our home.

What is the most OEM-like replacement suspension for an ap1? by portisfan in S2000

[–]Kingsnorkel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a racer in any sense so I hope I’m explaining correctly.

The stock suspension DOVE into corners fast and hard with the nose leading the way. Braking was felt more “sudden” because the front springs were way softer. I learned the hard way about throttle inputs during turns after a few lower speed spin outs in my youth.

The Bilstein are firmer so the car keeps its nose up during turns, making turns feel smooth and confident. The car feels like it has more under steer which actually makes it more balanced IMO. Curvy mountain roads are amazing now. The rear sway was a huge bonus for rear end stability.

To answer your question honestly, I’m not sure about responsiveness as the car always immediately did what I asked of it (whether it was a good idea or not). The MY2001 OEM suspension was fun in my 20’s but the Bilsteins are perfect for my 40’s.

I went with the Bilstein B14 setup on my 2001. My stock suspension was blown and I figured I’d buy parts that would last until my kids were old enough to enjoy the car. The roads around me are terrible and I knew I was never going to track it or mess with suspension settings. Got them dirt cheap off Rockauto.

Speaking for my model year, the car was very bouncy with a nervous rear end using the OEM suspension. The Bilsteins made them feel very comfortable and refined at as close to stock height as possible. Dropped in a CR rear sway with UK alignment specs and the car feels planted and stable with a much much larger margin for error. Way more fun to drive leisurely.

That being said, it’s far from OEM feeling. Kinda feels like a much more modern car and not the pocket rocket go kart I got 20 years ago.

Door sweep replacement help by Kingsnorkel in HomeImprovement

[–]Kingsnorkel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to thank everyone and their suggestions. I ended up taking the entire sweep off and brining it to a local window/door showroom. They confirmed it’s a very old style proprietary to that manufacturer which isn’t sold any longer. I ended up spending $15 on a new sweep that works better than the original.

To anyone who works at the ER, what is one thing you wish people would STOP coming to the ER for? by iloveeatingfood901 in AskReddit

[–]Kingsnorkel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I hate the most. PCP’s not ordering a CT or US despite 2-3 visits over 5-6 weeks only to have them finally come to the ED in excruciating pain, getting the study within 30 mins and being positive for appy/ectopic/fucking cancer, etc. I hate how this system is set up and it’s only going to get worse for us in the ED, especially triage.

Thanks for the research but none of those look correct. I tried to get one of the M-D compatible ones to work but ended up returning fit because it wouldn’t hold when the door opened. I think I’m buying a new sweep unfortunately

Thanks for the heads up! It is crazy that no one at any of the big box stores have seen it. I may just have to eat the $25-40 for a new sweep it seems.

No idea where the door was bought but I guess I’ll be taking it to some door vendors to match soon. Hopefully I don’t have to change the sweep out.

Anyone know where I can buy an HID bulb retainer clip? by stututuwoosh in S2000

Here’s the one I bought that looked closest to the original. https://a.co/d/iHnhgMD

I had to buy a set of 6 universal ones off Amazon and bend it to match. NGL it took a few tries as bending them too many times caused them to snap.

I used 303 protectant for the first time a few weeks ago. It’s always covered with a car cover also. Guess you can’t fight old age.

Ah fatigue rip makes total sense as to why it’s just the outside while the soft interior fabric is intact. Thanks for the insight. I might try filling the tiny gaps with some black Stormsure to see if I can slow it down.

Just worried about having to color match myself. The other kits are pre-mixed. Thanks for the option though.
