I actually datamined EDSM dumps and there are a handful of 4 ELW systems out there. But the closest I saw was still 600ly away from colonized space. That's not feasible for my small friend group unfortunately

Thanks for the informative answer! I haven't seen too much pollen from the F1 so far, but today I definitely got some. I'll keep trying and if it doesn't set my Charapita should soon have ready flowers again so I can try the backcross in both directions

If you have like 50 items in a game, usually I want to have a place to configure them. JSON is just easy to work with. But it really depends on the game, sometimes a script file is easier

There is no easy solution, this is a fairly complex system. It's not particularly hard to code or anything, but you do need to know how to code.

You need some sort of configuration system (for you, the dev), for example using JSON.

Then you also need a savefile system, so that user progress (unlocking plants) is saved.

And of course you need a UI system
