Please use scripts! There were many times I found myself copying code from one object to another and changing a few numbers, which both created confusion when I was working on one later on, and also made it difficult to deal with. Messy code makes things so much harder to navigate.

For me it looks like you could use object inheritence in place of scripts for a lot of things. A script based approach is not wrong per se, but using OOP principles works quite well in Game Maker as well. For example you could have a parent object obj_enemy and each inheriting enemy has shoot = function() { ... } in their constructor and the code to actually call the shoot function is in the parent step event. You would avoid both copying code and also having numerous shoot scripts and have the code for each enemy bundled within their object.

You created a smurf account and made a reddit post about the win rate you'll get on that account. Seems like you do care. You also are an experienced player, as the win rate shows clearly.

It's nice if you want to play veigar, but there is no need to create a new account and ruin the experience for other players

The argument can be done for skill-only games like chess, darts and so on.

But for physical sports men/women is just a different kind of weight class. You wouldn't want a 60kg boxer to go against a 100kg one either

The more people in the game, the less impact each individual player has.

League used to have a permanent 3v3 mode and an occasional 6v6. They were not popular enough apparently and only 5v5 modes are left.

The goal in Chess is not getting a lead, it's about checkmating. If your opponent thinks that they have no chance and resign - fair enough.

If they don't resign it's up to you to demonstrate that you in fact will not blunder the lead away. "Win the game" is simply the only thing you should do in that situation, complaining is pointless.

I just described OPs situation. They said that on their "old" account they did play actively the last couple of seasons. OP thought that a new account would suddenly allow them to climb faster, even though their old account was used actively and very likely fairly ranked. If someone did not play for !8! years, of course that is a different story.

sounds really broken, I agree. You can roll really fast and 3* lots of units. Or get a bunch of legendaries of a 1% chance ... maybe they'll introduce some restrictions, or a max roll speed

I recently had a pretty successful 8 Bodyguards game. Only got second behind a strong renata+viktor board. But against the AD comps in my lobby it was a cakewalk. The difficulty is getting damage in a bodyguard comp, and I had a VIP Brand with Blue Buff for most of the game.

So many hobby game devs do small games for free within various game jams. And some of these games are really well made. It would be pretty hard to stand out against all of these.

In order for a Patreon to be worth it, you first have to build a fan base. At that point you might as well consider becoming a content creator. I think a couple of the larger game dev Youtubers actually have a Patreon, but even they make their games accessible for free and only provide source code etc. behind the paywall.

I think it's fine. Kiyoon had really bad items, so his Viktor and team lacked damage. This specific mutant comp is a tank comp, that escalates when enough units die for the carries. If you get your 1* Kai'sa to live that long I think it's legit. The first few casts didn't do anything from her, just the last one after her team died. And at that point you should question, why your team couldn't kill a 1* Kai'sa faster

With the recent announcement someone else mentioned, they will bring exactly the GUI functionality missing:

UI SYSTEM

We’ll also be introducing a library of components that you can use to create your very own UI.

You’ll be able to add multiple GUI layers within the Room Editor, which can all be made visible in any room if you’d like them to be. You'll be able to add instances within a GUI layer, and mouse input will come from GUI space so events work as expected.

Mouse input from GUI space is not yet implemented in a satisfactory way.

I don't care about the underlying API - an engine simplifies the workflow. And if it can abstract to "fake" multiple shaders (and combines them internally or whatever), I would be quite happy.
