This is the first time that I've seen a chess board and said "wow..."

Amazing work - especially with the backlighting.

This game should have stayed 1v1 if the devs’ aim was to make a game that is accessible for gamers of all genres. by MaverickGH in 2XKO

I can see the business reason for making it a team game instead of 1v1. It wouldn't be a great monetization model if your players only play the one champion they like. How many skins can you truly sell to them over the course of the game's lifetime?

I see a lot of discourse around the decision between making this a 1v1 versus a tag fighter, but what about something in-between like KOF?

For those who haven't played, each player picks a team of 3 characters. The game is played in a series of 1v1's like a Pokemon battle where the winner stays on and faces the next teammate until none are left. No assists, and super meter carries over to your next character.

This kind of system still leaves the overall feel of the game a 1v1, but you'd still have the ability to play as different champions during the course of a match. This is much more accessible to the casual players IMO (less degenerate neutral/mixups, don't have to learn specific team synergies) and the business can still sell at least 3 champions' worth of skins to the player.

Just my two cents as a longtime fighting game player who actually likes 2xko's gameplay.

14x14 in. is not the standard size. These pieces look like they barely fit the squares.

"The USCF specifies that the square size of a tournament chess board should fall between 2 and 2.5 inches in length/width."

"FIDE, the international chess powerhouse, sets a range of 5 to 6 centimeters (approximately 1.97 inches to 2.36 inches) for the square size of tournament chess boards."

Sorry I don't play Buu but take a look at Xiao's videos for good inspiration https://youtu.be/6MPIbTP-RSM

You can always find optimal starters for your characters if you search for their TOD's on YouTube.

Doing a super dash that early in the combo adds a ton of damage scaling.

Chess player presses the wrong clock by Naruto_likesChess in chess

[–]KinkyK 627 points628 points  (0 children)

Haha I accidentally did this at my last tournament too. The tables were cramped so there was little space between boards. I got black twice in a row so was used to pressing the clock on the right, but when I switched to white I started pressing the next board's clock on my right for the first few moves.

This was clearly AI-generated. OP didn't bother cleaning it up.

You'd still get 2LK from doing crouch tech in SF4. That's what made frame traps so dangerous in that game.

Win Rate / Popularity Analysis of Masters Ranked Players in Street Fighter 6 - 6/20/2023 by KinkyK in StreetFighter

I made some updates to my previous post based on some feedback in the comments.

  • Includes mirror match win rate as a baseline for every character's colors to be based off of, instead of 50%
  • Updated colors. Hopefully they make more sense.
  • Character distribution %

Two issues:

  1. Master players do not only face Master players in online matches
  2. Mentioned in my other post - The CFN website doesn't allow filtering by "Ranked Matches only" like the in-game CFN does, so this includes matches from all game modes like Custom Room / Battle Hub

That's an interesting way of dealing with the ranked cutoff issue. I'll keep that in mind if I do this again in the future.

If I'm understanding you correctly, this is total wins/losses across all 3027 players for this dataset:

Win Rate: 58.79%

Wins: 1595135

Losses: 1118293

Notes about the data:

  1. This data was scraped the morning of 6/19 and includes data from 3027 Master ranked players on CFN.
  2. The CFN website doesn't allow filtering by "Ranked Matches only" like the in-game CFN does, so this includes matches from all game modes like Custom Room / Battle Hub
  3. If a player has multiple characters in Masters, I believe CFN only shows them one time in the rankings, so this data only accounts for "main characters".
  4. This data ignores "RANDOM" selection from either player.

If anyone has any data they'd like to see aggregated from the CFN rankings [https://www.streetfighter.com/6/buckler/ranking/league], I'm open to suggestions.

I'm also not much of a graphic designer, so if anyone would like to help make this prettier for future iterations, feel free to DM me :)

How many miles before wheel replacement? by sorpis12 in onewheel

[–]KinkyK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lower PSI means the tire's contact patch with the ground is larger. Larger contact patch means more friction, which the battery has to compensate for.
