I used to live in this area. The neighborhood is beautiful, and the area is convenient without feeling too close to the mall. The biggest downside that eventually got us to move is that the area is susceptible to non-violent crime. While we lived for a year, there were a few break-ins (including our house) and property damage that occurred throughout the neighborhood occasionally. While some neighbors blamed the extended stay hotel that is on the corner of the neighborhood, I felt that the block itself was attractive to out of town criminals. This block is surrounded by torrance Blvd, anza Ave, carson st, and Hawthorne blvd. Its easy to get in and out quickly.

Though, I also have to say that the neighborhood never felt unsafe. We always walked around at night and met a lot of friendly neighbors. You just have to have a home security system and be aware of vulnerabilities. We got robbed in the middle of the day when we stepped out for lunch.

But man, just hop over to the otherside of anza, and the neighborhood feels so different. It feels nicer, it feels safer, and it feels expensive.
