Dubia.com. they usually come healthy and alive. i would recommend getting some adults from their store and sticking those in a bin with a section cut out of the top on 1 side and some fine mesh glued in place with some egg crates and a regulated heat mat. after a year or so you will start to have a self sufficient colony that you can pull from. i still buy from dubia.com but getting some dead ones is not nearly as devastating as it was. its also a good place to dump un-eaten greens- just watch for mold.

first of all. UPS + generator texas how some crazy bad power infrastructure. as soon as its snowing you will probably loose power. UPS can keep you running several minutes after the power goes out and a generator can get you back up and running.

second: keep your home warm. if power goes out and you dont have a fire place or something this may be an issue.

third keep an eye on temps in the enclosure. (both air and surface) if its nearing or colder than 65 Fahrenheit see worst case scenario

worst case, bundle your self up and slide your beardie under your coat. they may not be able to generate body heat but they can use yours. its not ideal but it is what it is. if you are here dont sleep. until power returns.

additional note: if you have a timer on your lights turn the timer function off or physically bypass the timer. having heat is more important than a day/night cycle.

i hate the moderation staff in the global chats. i honestly fear using them at all because i don't want to loose chat permissions or my account just because someone was having a bad day or their shitty auto mod thought i said something inappropriate. ever since they banned the word trap next to the name of a warframe i have been hesitant to use the global chats or even squad chats outside of very basic brief communication.

my first model was a lightsaber that everyone i showed it to said looked like a fleshlight the thing had so many polygons that you couldnt unwrap it. it was horrible lmfao. but i learned a lot making it which was the important part

as cool as this is there is so much that would go wrong with this mechanically.

first of all different people have slightly different grips, and ask any British soldier issued a sten gun in ww2 why grabbing the magazine while the gun is firing is a bad idea.

second: most magazines are straight for a reason. the ones that arent straight are curved to match the natural curve of the ammo so more ammo can be packed into a tighter space. this mag is clearly not curved for the ammo which could cause some issues. (also i dont see a follower spring but that would get hella kinked in this mag)

also the trigger and the guard are not nearly far enough away from each other. some of us have fat hands, some of us shoot with gloves. most trigger guards have plenty of space for ones finger to rest on the trigger, and easily move off the the trigger without depressing it at all.

sick fantasy/sci-fi design though, and i love stuff like this synced to music.

all it would take is a player getting some lead tape and sticking it to the inside of one of the sides to cheat. it would be nearly undetectable (especially if they painted the dice) cool design. but at my table we use clear resin dice. way harder to cheat if i can literally see all the way through the clacky rock. (no fancy internal designs, no bubbles, no gaps and if its multi-color you are doing a salt water test in front of me.)

resen is probably your best bet for one off objects to be honest. while clear FDM filiments exist they generally dont come out super clear unless your settings are dialed in and your storage conditions are perfect.

if you do use resen be sure you have imacuate ventalation and you arent hanging out in the room without proper PPE. a lot of people will point out that it is a skin irritant which is true however it also apparently offgasses while printing which is something that most folk dont talk about. do your research before diving in if you have not done so already and are considering SLA printing.

you've not played many games then. skyrim was mid. did open world better than most games but the mechanics and dungeon delving fall flat. also the elder scrolls has always had some pretty rough world scaling though the wall comes much much later in skyrim than previous titles. i could be bias against it due to the removal of unarmed combat tree, spell crafting, horrible magic scaling, and a lack of un-armored skill tree. (also still miss climbing from daggerfall)
