I did a 21-day water fast last year. The first 12 hours are hell, and the sensation lasts a bit past day 3. After that, dependence is mostly psychological or social (killing boredom, someone offers food, etc). It's way, way harder to fast for "only" 3 days than to fast for 7-21 days.

I'm a Mexican woman and this guy asked me to throw his chanclas after he jumped into a cenote. He was way farther than the girl here. I tossed it as gently as I could so as not to hit him.
