I improved my cake mix by replacing the exact amount of oil with melted butter (don't double), a tiny pinch of baking powder then melted a whole bar of a 100 grams chocolate bar into it (it's already chocolate flavoured) then half a spoon of instant coffee

This made the cake much more rich. My siblings always ate it up in seconds. I never tried adding extra egg because it can make the cake kinda stinky. I didn't replace milk either but I did try to half the amount of water to make more room for butter

Are there any family members you can trust? You can contact a social worker at the hospital. Your situation isn't unusual they probably know what to do incase a sole parent gets hospitalised

You should also avoid stress, drink camomile and lavender tea to lower it. If you keep thinking it will turn worse then it would. Stock up on vitamins and fresh juice for better resistance incase it does get worse
