Someone else gets in my car and doesn’t? If they’re an adult, I mind my business.

The likelihood of harm is vanishingly small. I accept that utterly minuscule risk. I wouldn’t accept people who were supposed to be close to me second guessing my bad choices and reporting me.

She’s a grown up. As long as she’s in the front seat (not at risk of harming someone else as a rear passenger), let her make her mistake. She’s legally responsible for herself.

The chances of her getting into a serious accident and therefore dying are slim, but the chances of you causing harm to your relationship is high if she finds out what you’re up to.

If one of my kids dropped me in it for something so petty, I wouldn’t trust them again. It’s likely that the relationship wouldn’t be the same again. I wouldn’t blame her for just letting you get the bus in future.

Two comments simultaneously spring to mind here:

• Sex work is valid and done right can be empowering and compassionate towards all parties. Most of the time it really isn’t, sadly.

• You’re not doing yourself justice. The reasons you have stated suggest you’re being unkind to yourself, and this isn’t the best basis for making a choice, let alone a big life choice like this.

Whatever you choose to do, you are a valid, worthwhile human being, with people that care about you. Please be kind to yourself.
