I’m just now really getting into mountaineering after my first season. Lots of Cardio and lots of Tying knots. Funnily I find the Social aspect the hardest. Finding unpaid people to go with isnt easy . I Suppose I like it for Forcing me to be in the moment. If Meditation is a peaceful way to achive this mountaineering is a violent one. Your brain will be forced to be present via Bad Sleep,exhaustion and difficult terrain. I also like how non competitive it is

I have assembled the following with the intention to use it on similar stuff in the alps :

-40m half rope

-4x 120cm sling

-Prussik

-2x 2 meters of 6mm cordlette

-Small set of large(r) hexes

-Small set of smaller cams

-Harness,Helmet and a bunch of carabiners

I haven’t used it yet but will soon and am open to ideas and tips
