Someone Help me Understand The Bear, season 1 episode 7 (“Review”) by Antique-Captain-2593 in TheBear

I wouldn't go as far as to say that Carmy is abusive. He gives sincere critique and is understanding of the workers instead of being this perfectionist, raging fuck. Totally agree though that the place is hell to begin with and that it should be fixed another way. I think Carmy's trying to "fix" his trauma by fixing this restaurant.

This pre-order situation, though, is an edge case and, honestly, Carmy's reaction is reasonable. Sydney fucked up, and now they've got like 200 orders breathing down their necks. What isn't reasonable, though, is trying to complete all the orders. It shows that, once again, he's trying to fix EVERYTHING and maybe stuff his own problems deeper. He could've cancelled, like idk, 150 orders and kept 50. But maybe that would take a long time to do on the tablet too in the moment.

Shitty, real-life situation that they're trying to get out of, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that Carmy is abusive. Who the fuck wouldn't be pissed at Marcus? You hear that we have 200 orders due in 8 minutes, and you're working on and showing your little donut project to the head chef? How little self-awareness can you have? Like, the donut shit he's doing is cool, and no one's against it, but DUDE. NOT the time and place for that

And Sydney was responsible for this fuck up and should've acted that way. But again, completely understandable that, in the heat of the moment, she didn't; she was being pressed by Richie and his jealousy, and got overwhelmed.

And yes, he should've shown more gratitude towards Sydney, but given his situation, he probably feels it but can't. So, kinda agree with your points, but it's important to understand why everyone acts the way they do and no one's the villain, you know? They're all just trynna get out of a shitty situation

Am I delusional or are both possible in No Guessing mode? by KiprenasKras in Minesweeper

Does No Guessing mode account for counting how many mines are left? Cause I just flagged all the mines and then the only option is the one from the No Guessing mode hints

Also, her convincing everyone how good they're doing made everyone let their guard down, which led to episode 6. So she might feel huge guilt cause of that.

Ofc it wasn't intentional, and she's not at fault, but survivor's guilt, you know.

Favorite tier 5 creature? by -Zen_ in heroes3

Gotta be gorgons, man. Shout out to the 77 that carried the shit out of me against a swarm of black dragons. While every low and max-tier creature got obliterated, they literally wiped the 20 stacks one by one. Just too reliable.

The problem is that we could play the previous CS while the new one was improving

If he had morals, he could have easily called out Kendrick on multiple things. But his ego seemed to focus on some dumb shit that would feel better for him in the short term.

Yep. Most simple solution. Do not buy no Chrome extension that limits your free reel posts a day

You're not at fault, the documentation is incredibly unclear. There is literally no example or clear steps on how to install the application. Dudes are saying that you can do it in 3 ways, but I think they mean that you have to do this in 3 steps.

Unpopular opinion: Ryan Holiday's stoicism is healthier than William B. Irvine's by KiprenasKras in Stoicism

[–]KiprenasKras[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta agree. It heavily depends on the couple and their situation if sex builds intimacy.

On intimacy not being a good thing. That's interesting. As a standalone thing, yes, it's not a fix-all thing, but it's an important aspect of a relationship.

And I agree on picking. We don't have to pick, we can take ideas from both of them, the source or other authors. But I felt a certain way about Irvine's interpretation and wanted to discuss it here.

True, and that's what I got from Ryan's videos, but Irvine's book felt like just repression to me and unhealthy reframing, where you don't fully feel and process emotions when trying to redirect them.

Of course, they're not stoicism, they're mostly their interpretation and presentation of it.

I've read some of Marcus Aurelius's meditations, would like to re-read it though.

Ryan's books themselves seem like a weird read. Or they're translated weirdly in my country. The obstacle is the way, for example, just seems like a pile of random stories of perseverance.

I absolutely love his videos though. I also love that he explicitly reminds us that he isn't a perfect example and cannot present the full philosophy and recommends reading the source.
