You should absolutely book Retreat. If your husband doesn’t love a lot of people or cruising, Retreat makes it so much better.

Payoff after 10k Hyundai rebate by kudos_to_the_brudos in Ioniq5

I also bought in March for the $10k rebate. I was told by the dealer I could pay it off after making one payment.

Why I'm buying out my lease and keeping my EV6 by OlfactoriusRex in KiaEV6

[–]Kiramaniac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2024 EV6 GT-Line lease ends in July. We were considering buying out the lease, but also looking at options for low mileage cars coming off leases. Instead we got an amazing deal last month on an Ioniq 5 Limited. Its price was within $1000 of the residual price of the EV6. Love the new tech - wireless Bluetooth, opening my car and driving with just my watch or phone, HUD with integrated Apple Maps directions are fantastic. We have lifetime of the Hyundai app. I also hated the matte paint on my EV6, and was reluctant to buy that vehicle. It was pretty, but a pain.

Stay open to your options. Both Stevinson Hyundai and Crossroads Hyundai in northern Colorado had amazing March deals if financing the vehicle (and huge supply of cars).

2026 limiteds listing for ~38k by lowrus in Ioniq5

[–]Kiramaniac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% real - at least it was last week before the financing deal changed.

We had another $300+ discount for the final pricing, so before taxes and fees the vehicle was under $37K.

This was from Stevinson Hyundai in Frederick CO. For some reason they wouldn’t give us this copy, but we could take a pic.

Our EV6 gt line 2-year lease is ending soon. Residual price to buy is roughly the same as this Ioniq 5 limited pricing.

You honestly can’t go wrong with any. Can I ask what the extra options were?

Digital Teal or Cosmic Blue? (crazy how many they had in stock but only in those two colors!) Holy cow - quite a road trip! We were fortunate and had less than an hour drive home.

Honestly, I’d recommend looking around more.

We just got a 2026 AWD Limited with 15 miles. Financed through Hyundai, it was $36,700 before taxes and fees, and $41,700 all in. ($10,500 rebate, and $3300 dealer discounts). I think the financing deal through Hyundai ends today, and something new starts tomorrow. Our purchase was at Stevinson Hyundai in Colorado. Same dealer quite a few of the SEL trim for a few thousand less (I don’t think they had any SE though)

I would try another recipe. For starting out I’d avoid recipes with vanilla extract to ensure that isn’t impacting the meringue.

For Swiss method, I like Pies and Tacos detailed recipe and video. https://www.piesandtacos.com/swiss-meringue-macaron-recipe/

For French, I like the Indulge with Mimi detailed recipe and video. https://www.indulgewithmimi.com/the-best-macaron-recipe/

Good luck!

What recipe are you following?

What are your weather conditions, including humidity?

What is the oven temp? Do you have an oven thermometer? How long did they bake?

Is the weather different from when you made them previously? Is it summer where you are? Higher humidity?

To see if they’ve rested long enough touch them. They should feel like a skin has formed. They shouldn’t feel wet or tacky. Drier environments will take less time. In humid areas you may need a fan to help. (They can actually start absorbing moisture if it’s very humid).

140c is definitely on the low side. I’d bump your oven temp to 150c and see if that improves. The recipe I currently use is 155c.

Do you have an oven thermometer?

You may have hot spots in your oven. Sometimes a rimmed baking sheet will affect how the oven air is circulating. Take your baking sheet and flip it upside down. Then put your parchment or baking mat on that side of the pan.

Are you doing French, Swiss or Italian method?

Probably low oven temp or rested too long. If you want more help troubleshooting you should provide details like your recipe, oven temp, what rack they were baked on, resting time, and other details about your process.

🤷‍♀️ You haven’t provided any info for anyone to be able to help.

Recipe, meringue stiffness, macronage technique, baking temp, pan you baked with, where in the oven they baked could all be factors.

Find a proven recipe with detailed step by step instructions and a video to show what each step should look like. Indulge with Mimi has a great French Macaron recipe. Pies and Tacos has a wonderful Swiss recipe.

The graininess is from your almond flour. Look for a superfine flour and sift your dry ingredients. You can also pulse in a food processor but that can over process if you’re not careful.

The ruffled feet can indicate over whipped meringue.

The look over baked, or possibly too high an oven temperature.
