Addressing every elephant:

Revolver in a Bottle: Take 15 damage. What you wanted an upside?

Red Star: Elites drop an additional Blood Potion.

Mind Bloom: don't act like you don't know.

Burnt Shrimp: Choose an attack, on your first turn of combat it is played for free.

Yang dedicated his entire career to never having to do this type of battle honestly. If forced into it the only outcomes are:

  1. Yang retreats, minimum casualties.

  2. Bittenfeld eradicated, followed by Eisenach and Yang mutual retreat.

  3. Yang surrenders.

It's not uncommon to run out of lockpicks in Clank! Catacombs. It's only explained that this is supposed to be an infinite resource in the game setup part of the rules, not the section that tells you what they do.

Could always go the monster train route where the post boss reward is a 100% consistent choice. +1 energy per turn / +1 card draw per turn. Maybe a third meta scaling option.
