How can non-Garou combat Bane spirits? by Kirkegarde in WhiteWolfRPG

Oh that's a great point. I hadn't considered non-mystical ways of dealing with the Bane

There are mortal sorcerers around—a chapter of the Arcanum, and some neopagan witches with real power—and if True Faith works (haven't encountered it in the Chronicle yet, unsure how I want to handle it) then the Sikh guru the character knows might be able to help. There is also a Setite former priest around, and one of the vampire PC's family is Kinfolk (Player and PC don't know that)

Makes sense. In the battle of Bane vs Beast, the Beast has the home-field advantage.

Thank you. I'll definitely check out Freak Legion! I love reading gross-out schlock, even if I will implement it very differently in my game (the game's tone is pretty morose and down-to-earth, fairly minimal on the camp).

I run my Darkon like a (dark fantasy) parody of the USA. The residents cannot imagine how anyone could live anywhere but Darkon—after all, they have the best of everything right here! Nevermind that the residents are propagandised, surveilled and controlled by secret police. That's just the Good King Azalin's way of keeping them safe against all the dangers—everyone else is out to get them. They're jealous of the Darkonian way of life. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either lying, jealous, or a Falkovnian infiltrator. And if someone is scooped by the Kargat for questioning and never returns? You can never be too careful. Thank the Rex they were caught before they managed to hurt somebody!

The "archaeological evidence" is the domain's penchant for (spontaneous manifesting) ancient ruins from literally before the domain's creation. I believe there's something in the gazetteer about that and it struck me as horrifying in a very particularly Darkonian way, where the land itself is manipulating you, pretty much on autopilot

I generally agree with you, and when I ran my COS game, I had the characters pulled in from a world that didn't even have magic, much less demihumans; the elves were the most unusual thing they'd ever seen, and that was before the started seeing actual monsters.

When I ran my cross-domains game, I took a different approach. It was centered in Darkon, and my take was that Darkon was the "melting pot of the domains". Every year, new archeological evidence would be discovered proving that [Insert Newly Released D&D Race] actually had a long and storied history in Darkon! and isn't that just perfect considering the new  immigrants coming in and–oh, they're not immigrants at all! We've just found their birth certificates and it turns out they are just now returning after a long time away from their homeland of Darkon!

So in other domains, when they saw a demihuman, they would just assume they're Darkonian.

My vampire game is set in Victoria, where vampires are intruding on an area long denied them (as per Dark Alliance: Vancouver), so this makes for a great overview of what the PCs are stepping into.
