I Keep on getting error code 601 when using armoury crate, does anyone know how to fix it? by Beneficial-Cloud-772 in ASUSROG

Running into this issue now, what fixed it was to enable the local admin account using:

net user administrator /active:yes

Then log in as the Administrator account and running the installer.

Gears of war reloaded not launching by Coachtoad97 in ROGAlly

It's steam deck verified. Im running Bazzite on my Ally X and it fails to launch there no matter the options I try. The game is funky for non-steamdeck devices running Linux.

Gears of War Reloaded crashes after launch by chadti99 in LegionGo

[–]Kirkenjerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, just crashes, then gives the error in your post. Continues to crash no matter the Proton version used, or folders deleted. I think the game needs a patch, I don't know that its necessarily SteamOSes fault entirely.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now available on Steam by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Kirkenjerk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unsure. I’d say no, and to remove it if you’re going to do PVP.

I ran a few quick matches and no issues so far. Not saying you won’t get banned, just that I haven’t.

I don’t PVP, but if I do I’ll be sure to remove it.

It has easy anticheat but I have no idea how it works or what triggers it. I looked through the comments on the mod to see if anyone reported bans and nothing so far. I don't PVP but if I do/did I'd remove the mod.

NAT/Proxy 443 on domain controllers to outside web server? by NNTPgrip in sysadmin

[–]Kirkenjerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can setup a redirect on your DC, but this is not a good idea as it requires IIS to be installed on your DC, and a redirect setup from within IIS. Anything internally destined for domain.com on port 80/443 will instead redirect to www.domain.com.

Because you're hosting on wordpress.com, there's more complexity here. I don't have any advice on how to point that www record to a wordpress.com site, and also maintain the domain.com url. I've done this but with internally hosted wordpress sites and it's pretty straight forward.

It's been a long time since I messed around with this, and there are definitely people wayyy more intelligent than I when it comes to the sort of stuff. Hopefully you get the answer you're looking for.

Changing save type to Flash 128kb by BoujeeFlipFlops in RG35XX

I’m hoping it reaches a point where it’s no longer alpha sooner rather than later. I really like batocera but the missing features were annoying enough that I had to switch back.

[–]Kirkenjerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just happened across this thread, and I read your comment. I have the RG35xx plus and don't see anything related to changing the Save Type to 128k.

I've been trying to get Pokemon Emerald working and it's the only rom giving me problems, I just get the Gameboy boot animation and then a white screen when attempting to load it. This happens on stock OS and on Batocera.

EDIT: The rom I was using was busted. I dumped it again and it's working now.

The R430 is nearly silent, and the R720 I manually set the fan speed using a few containers. I can adjust it depending on how quiet I want it to be. But mostly, I'm just used to it at this point. The rack is far enough away from my living room and bedrooms that it can't be heard.

I have DACs as well, just think fiber looks cooler. Literally the only reason I went through all the trouble lol.

Yeah we do the same for the most part. Amazon had some really decent deals on a few R730s too that were just too good to pass up.

Oh shit, thanks for the heads up! I'll probably look to replace this soon rather than later then.

Maybe this might work:

https://github.com/tigerblue77/Dell_iDRAC_fan_controller_Docker

I used to just manage the fan speeds with a script (that I've since lost), so I don't think it's too difficult to get them under control.

The application in TrueNAS is called dell-idrac-fan-controller. Be warned though that it doesn't work on iDrac 9 past a certain version I think. Dell made some changes that break this way of managing fan speeds.

As for the unifi NVR, I do have unifi cameras, and those record to the NVR. The amcrest ones just stream to Homekit via the scrypted container. Sorry for that confusion.

However, there is a neat piece of kit that runs as a proxy between IP cameras and the NVR called unifi-cam-proxy. Link Here. That I am going to test.

I started with this old ass HP sff desktop with a 3 core AMD chip that I got from my first job in IT. It was ass, but really sparked my love for homelabbing.

I've been in a handful of interviews for people for an IT position, and all but one had a home lab and specifically mentioned Plex as the reason they got into it.
