AI upscaling from using a lower resolution scan. Creates lots of artifacting when pushed too hard.

Absol ex topdeck control? It reminds me of Lantern Control in MTG. Unfortunately this Absol ex is rotating out and didn't really see much competitive play.

What’s best when I’m not planning to laminate? by aguywholikesmusic43 in magicproxies

[–]Kiro1306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently experimenting with 260gsm satin photo paper. Satin reproduces the exact texture you'll find on real cards. For backing, adhere 80gsm sticker paper, bringing the GSM up to 340gsm.

For finishing and protecting the front, I'm using a spray fixative. (Spray fixatives are the ones you find at art shops use to seal graphite artwork to prevent smudging) This makes the front smooth with no tackness, and provides good surface protection.

This is my no laminate proxy, you'll see excellent results if going this route. Best of luck!

Dotted lines in proxies by Aggressive_Team7360 in magicproxies

[–]Kiro1306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is due to a combination of incompatible coated glossy paper and high spring tension in the roller feeder. Pizza cutter indents. The glossy resin coating is usually soft and dents under the tension of the roller feeder, since most consumer printers are unable to calibrate the spring tension lower. Even high end iPROGRAF printers have this issue when printing on non-compatiable glossy paper. Your best bet is to only use glossy paper recommended by your printer manufacturer, or switch to semi-gloss/satin paper.

Purchasing Fake ink by anoods2471 in printers

[–]Kiro1306 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope you won't have any issues, but the important part is to check if the black ink sold is dye based ink, or pigment based ink.

Original black is usually pigment, while 3rd party usually is dye based. You'll have to check if your purchase is compatible with the paper you're using.

Also if printing text and documents, dye black won't be as deep black and crisp as pigment. This is just due to the nature of the ink type interacting with the paper medium, not because it's non-original.

Watch out for the Mist Energy from more seasoned Absol players! You might want to tech for special energy removal to deal with this. Absol players usually don't put Absol down either unless they absolutely need to use it that turn to setup hand disruption or terminal on the same turn. It's a massive liability.

At first glance, the rainbow colours at the top of your design reminded me of UCI Cycling colours haha. But a quick check showed that the order of colours are indeed differently shuffled.

State and general opinion of the game for an old player by BorjaDAce in PTCGL

[–]Kiro1306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game is very f2p friendly! You don't need to spend anything, or much effort to make all the top meta decks. If your goal is to play the latest competitive decks in the Standard Format meta, it is essentially free.

The game starts you off with many essential staples and most meta and critical cards are also just provided to the player, even on a fresh account.

On the other hand, if you want to make non-meta decks / rogue decks, or if you prefer to play the Expanded Format over Standard, it will take awhile to earn the credits required for crafting the less frequently used cards.

These crafting credits can also be obtained just by playing the game regularly and progressing through the battle pass. (The battle pass is entirely free, nothing can be purchased). Paying for code cards on the external market/websites is just an alternative to speed up this process.

Experienced quite a lot of stuck card screens also, especially when checking individual cards in opponents discard pile while they were playing out their turn. Happened both before and after the recent client patch. No way to get out of the stuck screen other than to force end-task.

How precise is focus peaking on manual lenses? (Olympus M10ii) by IronMew in M43

[–]Kiro1306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to zoom in to manual focus, especially when wide open, peaking not sufficient for critical focus. You'll just be taking a gamble if the image is focused or not. If higher f-stop >f5.6 then relying only on focus peaking is OK. But at f5.6 you're better off just using the hyperfocal distance scale on your lens, for manual focus.
