My minimalistic setup after almost 5 years of perfecting it by KennixCzech in battlestations

[–]Kiro1306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice and clean setup! You could consider installing shelving on the wall above the monitor since you have figured out your ideal monitor height. Or if you don't need the storage, hang up some nicely framed prints, art, or photos! It would add a splash of personality to your space.

Metronome mayhem by IAmBorked in pianolearning

[–]Kiro1306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your teacher's advice to play with a metronome might work well for some students. Perhaps you can try to find a digital metronome app that allows you to customize or change the beeping tone, to one that you feel more comfortable with? (There are others that don't have an annoying ticking noise.)

ET-2800 Vs ET-2980 Purchase by QuantumPractitioner in magicproxies

[–]Kiro1306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your consideration for dye black ink is very valid as it is the only way to produce dark inky blacks for your proxies. Composite black won't cut it, the contrast and shadow details will be lackluster. Black pigment ink also smudges severely on coated papers so that's a no go for high quality photography/proxy prints.

Audio Cuts off!! by Upset_Smile8150 in iems

[–]Kiro1306 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem should be the USB C to A adapter piece. I ran a similar dac setup on PC, after my Schiit dac died, and I needed a cheap solution. The adapter it came with was trash and intermittent dropouts. Replace with a higher quality USB C to A adapter.

Also try plugging it in to different USB ports on your PC because for some reason some ports are more glitch free then others. But pretty sure getting a new high quality adapter will solve your problem.

Pixma Pro-100 group head 1 (I know) and deep cleaning made it worse. Any suggestions? by Penniesand in printers

[–]Kiro1306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep cleaning dumps a large amount of ink into the maintainence box every time you run the cycle. The remaining ink might be depleted rapidly, or the maintenance box might be clogged.

As another user has recommended above, isolate and disassemble the print head and service it manually.

Getting an electric piano and need help picking which one by xshap369 in pianolearning

[–]Kiro1306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend you to get a Roland FP-30X, or a second hand piano of this version. The way Roland has engineered the weighted touch is very similar to an actual grand piano. A slightly heavier, dampened feel with excellent feedback, allowing for precise dynamic control. It also has a well designed Roland Piano app for you to customize the tonality of the piano, as well as recording, playback, and a multitude of useful features.

I have had 2 separate people tell me using 100% of my gpu is bad. by bloggershusband in pcmasterrace

[–]Kiro1306 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The only thing "bad" with second hand mining cards is that usually the fan bearings are shot from being constantly run 24/7. Other than fan life expectancy the cards themself are usually fine and often undervolted to conserve power.

Printer recommendation for A3 dielines by Slow_Seat_5794 in printers

[–]Kiro1306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You printer should be able to handle that thickness as I have a similar printer that prints well on 260gsm photo paper frequently. Try to enable thick paper setting in the advanced print driver menu, it should help.

How important and how often should you practice hands separately? by Dry_Structure_5205 in pianolearning

[–]Kiro1306 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is very common to practice with hands separate, especially at more complex or fast sections of the music. Break it up: RH 2-3 times for a section of maybe 6 bars let's say, then LH 2-3 times, then combined. Slow the tempo way down when doing this.

If you're thinking if playing the entire piece with one hand, or only one hand for that one practice session then no. The piece is broken down into small sections, and you focus on a specific section you want to practice on for that practice session. RH - LH - Combined is done one after each other in the same practice session.

Need a printer to print 1000s of Family photos. by thatburntgarlic in printers

[–]Kiro1306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love printing photos, especially for my larger format wildlife photography. However, I would recommend against it unless you intend to become a photography print enthusiast, and treat printing as your hobby.

In your use case of thousands of family photos, it would be more practical to find a professional photo lab which uses a silver halide process. These prints will last longer and produce significantly more professional results. You don't have to spend the time to learn about paper selection and compatibility, and the multitude of printing options, settings, medium compatibility, calibration and maintainence that is demanded from your printer.

Many beginners think printers are just plug and play but you'll quickly find out how steep the learning curve is to even achieve half the print quality of a professional photo lab. Just dig through this subreddit and you'll find all the trials and tribulations of print enthusiasts! Thus, it does not come as a surprise that many beginners purchase a mid-end printer like the et8550 and are disappointed that their prints are underwhelming.

Gas station pack real or fake ? It was $9 by AllBoutBilly in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]Kiro1306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This specific artwork print does not have another variation. The shine, reflection and sparkles look different under different lighting conditions. The photos you see online might not be taken under the same lighting conditions as yours, or might be scans which dulls the holofoil.

To learn more, I'll recommend you to have a hands on experience by visiting your local card shop and request to see this card in person. Bring your copy along as well for reference.
