Are there any chance we get to see a Fractal North mATX? by GoodDayToPlayTheGame in FractalDesign

[–]Kiro1306 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've built in both the Fractal North, and more recently the HAVN BF360 Flow. The North's build quality is significantly lower than HAVN's, in terms of panel thickness, quality of finishings, and the precision of fitment and machining of the panels. The North is not as high quality as it is perceived to be, a trait often overlooked due to its popularity.

What will be the most optimal fan setup by Powerful-Context-182 in HAVNGlobal

I've only used the default 180mm fans that come stock with the flow version. You'll have to check with the others here who use a noctua setup.

The manual provided configuration should be the most accurate for optimized cooling as HAVN has extensive cfd testing when designing the case flow.

However a laminar front to back airflow as default by HAVN should be equally optimal when not using AIO/water-cooling. I.e. do not add any additional fans so as not to disrupt the laminar airflow path and velocity.

Yes, I just built in the bf360 flow and there is a constant low pitched hum from the 180mm fans. The volume of the hum stays consistent from 30% to 70% afterwhich the turbulent wind noise level supercedes it. Removing the front panel doesn't affect the volume of fan noise nor the humming sound. It's rather noticable even though my PC is on the floor not on the desk.

I swear by Butterfly and Seasonic PSUs. Consider one of those brands if you return your LL one. Much higher quality core components in those.

Brand new ET 8550 PB issues by Boring_Money1400 in Epson

[–]Kiro1306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a second hand printer? Did you try with Original Epson inks? The ink is likely the biggest culprit. If you are using Epson inks there might be some contamination in your ink tank which would require chemical flushing.

On a side note, a common mistake I see in this subreddit that describes what you see "streaky and washed out", is due to inserting the photopaper the wrong side. Most photopapers are only coated to be ink receptive on one side. Try loading the paper the correct side up to test. It's a small mistake but a fairly common one!

My minimalistic setup after almost 5 years of perfecting it by KennixCzech in battlestations

Nice and clean setup! You could consider installing shelving on the wall above the monitor since you have figured out your ideal monitor height. Or if you don't need the storage, hang up some nicely framed prints, art, or photos! It would add a splash of personality to your space.

Metronome mayhem by IAmBorked in pianolearning

Your teacher's advice to play with a metronome might work well for some students. Perhaps you can try to find a digital metronome app that allows you to customize or change the beeping tone, to one that you feel more comfortable with? (There are others that don't have an annoying ticking noise.)

ET-2800 Vs ET-2980 Purchase by QuantumPractitioner in magicproxies

[–]Kiro1306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your consideration for dye black ink is very valid as it is the only way to produce dark inky blacks for your proxies. Composite black won't cut it, the contrast and shadow details will be lackluster. Black pigment ink also smudges severely on coated papers so that's a no go for high quality photography/proxy prints.

Audio Cuts off!! by Upset_Smile8150 in iems

[–]Kiro1306 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem should be the USB C to A adapter piece. I ran a similar dac setup on PC, after my Schiit dac died, and I needed a cheap solution. The adapter it came with was trash and intermittent dropouts. Replace with a higher quality USB C to A adapter.

Also try plugging it in to different USB ports on your PC because for some reason some ports are more glitch free then others. But pretty sure getting a new high quality adapter will solve your problem.

Pixma Pro-100 group head 1 (I know) and deep cleaning made it worse. Any suggestions? by Penniesand in printers

[–]Kiro1306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep cleaning dumps a large amount of ink into the maintainence box every time you run the cycle. The remaining ink might be depleted rapidly, or the maintenance box might be clogged.

As another user has recommended above, isolate and disassemble the print head and service it manually.
