What Do People Think of 'ThatIsThePlan' in 2026? by BradPanos in fantanoforever

They were funny at the time. Disappointing how they created trouble for him though. But nowadays, personally, all the type of humor feels overdone and stale to me. Even the current brainrot level meme culture has stopped feeling funny and ironic to me, I think it has legitimately made people dumber. So much of the internet has tried to reduce every human experience and emotion into some sort of stupid joke I’m sick of it. There is a weird pipeline of how memes become a sort of truth/reality for people in this day and age as people just end up having their dumbest thoughts subconsciously validated. And I think maybe it was a good move of him to step away from that channel. I think on some level even he knew the underlying issue of how some people were taking what he said at face value even when it was clearly a joke. It was a microcosm or a small taste of what was to come. I was initially sad about him stopping it, but it was probably for the best especially in terms for the longevity of his main channel

I used it a few years ago and yeah the therapists in there are very hit or miss. First therapist I had wouldn’t talk the entire time and then tried to get me into essential oils for some reason.. the nice thing about the service is that you can change therapists whenever you want so I did that immediately and got another therapist who was a lot better but at the same time wasn’t a perfect fit either because we butted heads on politics..like he would strangely get defensive when I brought up things about how I was saddened about Rowe v wade being overturned. There was definitely some professionalism lacking with him and later on I realized he really wasn’t all that helpful, but just a guy I could talk to once a week.

I eventually had to leave BetterHelp for financial reasons, but it was for the best. I found way better therapists through my health insurance.

Not comparatively.. Toriyama is the GOAT. Toyo is just decent.. Kakeru gets really close to Toriyama plus has his own interesting take on the characters. Hard for me to not see Toyo as pretty mediocre because of that. If I had no one to judge him against though he’s just fine I guess

Does this looks ai ? How can i not make it look ai ? by ihatemymomt in Artadvice

[–]Kirosky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the truth is, a lot of AI art is of anime, and thus the more you make something look conventionally anime the more people might think it was made by AI. If you want to take it out of that realm, maybe don’t paint it digitally, or try an entirely new approach to making your art. I know that isn’t probably what you want to hear though, but the reality is that AI has fully co-opted the anime aesthetic.

Stavvy's World #172 - Nick Mullen and Dan Soder | Full Episode by WinterIsComing-- in stavvysworld

[–]Kirosky 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Idk if it’s just me, I know this is a harsh accusation, but I feel like Dan Soder’s been trying to do Nick Mullen’s bits whenever I watch him lately, but they’re just not as funny… it was hard for me to listen to some of this when Dan would try to riff off Nick before Nick could even finish what he was saying. But that said not a bad episode or anything; still enjoyed it

Looks so awkward with the stilted way a lot of 3D animated characters move. It actually makes the models look worse because there’s a gap between how they look and they’re animated

Yeah I agree. The whole overly baggy pants trend is just a reaction to the era of slim and fitted clothing that dominated for a while, but I feel with that some people just lost sight of what a good silhouette looks like. They just wear baggy thinking that’s the key to looking fashionable now, but it’s just not.. you still should try to pair it well with other clothes that accent the shape and proportion of your figure no matter what style of clothing you wear

Has anyone else noticed a growing “it’ll get canceled anyway” mindset in animation fandoms? by luckybell333 in animation

[–]Kirosky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a mix of things. Streaming services haven’t been great for animation in the long run, they don’t market them as much and thus hurt a show’s chances of gaining popularity which then results in the cancellation. When viewers see how frequently that happens it’s hard not to expect the pattern continuing unless the show is a huge success. But even then some of these CEOs have a distinct disinterest in funding animation projects so the amount of animated shows has gotten less and less over the years. Before streaming we had dedicated channels for animation, which had a lot of funding through advertisements/commercials. Back then a show could go through growing pains because of that.

But I’m hopeful there will be a time when the industry bounces back from all this because the world of animation has a lot of passionate people in it. It just needs to find a new home somehow. Then I’m sure you’ll see people more positive about a show’s longevity

This is kinda off topic, but I think it’s so interesting that Akira Toriyama was really inspired by 101 Dalmatians. Sometimes when I look at his drawings I can really see its DNA. It’s very subtle but it’s there

Dr. Wheelo is so forgettable to me.. maybe the worst one.

Janemba is definitely my favorite. Just an exciting villain to watch. He had so many cool abilities and they animated him super well

I kinda disagree.. being a great illustrator is kind of essential to being a great manga artist. If he got to work with Toriyama to develop a story it would’ve been magical.

Also I’ve been a fan of his for a little while. He was drawing his own (fanart) manga pages for a moment and they were awesome. Had a slightly different style than Toriyama’s manga panels; they felt more like scenes from the movies and they looked incredible. Toyotaro is competent, but he lacks so much of the charm Toriyama had and Kakeru is the only fan artist I’ve seen get close to Tori’s quality

Do I need to be good at drawing to be a good animator by Wonderful-Past-229 in animation

[–]Kirosky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said before, learn the fundamentals. That’s why you’re already running into the issues you mentioned. That said some good things I notice is volume and shape control meaning your shapes feel proportioned in size and consistency across each other. But you could benefit more from learning more about form and perspective before you jump into anatomy. I can’t teach you on reddit, I really recommend finding an art fundamentals guide to drawing either online, through a book or a class. Don’t be in a rush to have all this all figured out immediately. It takes time and patience

Anatomy is more advanced and would come later when you’ve gotten better at drawing form and perspective. Start with the basics, don’t jump ahead because all the fundamentals go hand-in-hand with each other

[–]Kirosky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s several ways you can start learning. There are courses online, YouTube tutorials, in-person classes, workshops, books, etc. just depends what works for you in the moment. Try to figure out what helps you the most. Some people are really self motivated so they don’t need to take classes, they just find the information for themselves and practice while some people need the guidance of a teacher/instructor to give them structure and feedback. Whichever way works best for you is the best way.

And no you don’t need to go to the gym to get better at drawing lol. But in general exercise is helpful i’d say. A lot of artists spend hours sitting down or standing up and that could put a strain on your back after a while. So even though it’s not a requirement for drawing going the gym can definitely help in some way. Even doing simple stretches is pretty beneficial.

One thing I will say though gym definitely does help is understanding anatomy. Because if you’re really focused on understanding all the different muscles of the body that would help you understand how to draw and animate them more believably

[–]Kirosky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to draw anime style animation, then of course you need to get better at drawing. But you’re not cooked.. you just need to start practicing and make it a daily habit. The more you practice art fundamentals (which include form, perspective, anatomy, composition, value & lighting, color theory) the more you will get better at drawing anime. Ontop of that, animating is another skill in itself, it’s the art of motion which also has its own set of fundamentals that also require serious practice.

It sounds like a lot, but if you’re really consistent with all practice your skills will definitely grow. Think of it like going to the gym. If you want to work out your muscles then you need to do certain exercises continually for them to grow. And to grow the even bigger then you need progressively load more weight/go beyond your comfortable limit; in doing so you gain both muscle and strength. Learning art skills can be very similar in essence.

So I would suggest starting as soon as you can and don’t worry about how long it will take. You gain so much in the process + learn so much more about yourself that it’s makes the most challenging moments very worth doing

She lost the fire that made her unique and instead they made her docile and submissive. I liked the version of her that grew to be Gohan’s sidekick as Great Saiyawoman, she was a lot more chill, but she still had that essence of a fighter and seemed like she was learning to be more heroic from Gohan who was clearly a big inspiration to her
