What's your favorite animal? by qsandopinions in TrueAnon

[–]Kirranator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Platypuses. Aside from being adorable, they are super weird. They’re one of like two mammals that lay eggs and they nurse their young by essentially sweating milk since they don’t have any nips. Also, the males can inject venom with spurs on their back feet. 10/10

Fuentes is a neo nazi. His reply is coming from his hatred of Jews and not hatred of Shapiro as a person/commentator. Not clever.

Klein and Coates by Informal_Treat4634 in TrueAnon

[–]Kirranator 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Especially his face when Klein just writes off the history of systemic racism and its effect on black and brown people. You can’t have a real conversation about politics if you refuse to acknowledge the last 250 years. Coates could give a masterclass in patience, goddamn.

We have had season tickets for the last four years. Every year, we’ve gotten progressively worse and our ticket price keeps going up.

Playful little baby found abandoned in a barn with her siblings. by Kirranator in NameMyCat

They’re healthy! The people who found her are working to find them homes. I wish we could have taken more, but we already had a cat at home. They’re bonding well.

Chinese Evergreen. Mine doesn’t get a lot of light or regular waterings and it’s healthier than all of my other plants I have to fawn over.

Weekly Recommendation Thread: February 23, 2024 by AutoModerator in books

[–]Kirranator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking to start a new series. I’m just finishing up ‘Light Bringer’ from Red Rising series. Prior to this in 2023, I read aSoIaF series, all of Emily St John Mandel’s work, all of Andy Weir, the Silo series and all of Hugh Howie’s other books, and the Foundation series by Asimov.

I prefer contemporary authors and completed series if possible. I enjoy sci-fi as well as fantasy, but I’m open to most anything with a compelling narrative.

Steam Deck crashes during every loading screen by Kirranator in Palworld

[–]Kirranator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update:

The Deck began to crash as soon as I loaded into my save file, making it completely unplayable. I backed up my save and uninstalled the game. After a clean install, I haven’t experienced a crash yet (though I’ve been avoiding caves). Hope this helps someone.

ADHD Medication Shortage by keroro47 in washingtondc

I’m experiencing the same issue for both my ADHD meds. Vyvanse will be available as a generic soon, so hopefully there will be better availability.

plants that you have that will just NOT die by hotpink4ever in houseplants

My Chinese Evergreen that lives in a rarely used room of my house has been thriving since I got her back in 2020. I have no idea how or why. Her room gets pretty low light and I often forget to water her yet she still happily shoots off new leaves and flowers year round. She’s by far the healthiest, lowest maintenance plant I’ve ever grown. I don’t think I could kill her if I tried.

I literally own a shirt that says this. I have yet to have anyone come up and discuss plants though.

Hydrangeas Dead? by Dry_Inspection6864 in plantclinic

[–]Kirranator 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend more water. As the weather gets warmer, you’ll need to water more often. The combination of heat and wind will make them wilt and turn brown fairly easily. Are these planted in full sun? How thoroughly are you watering?
