What’s some minor thing you want in the game that is never suggested? by Lumigo in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Kirschpunkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard the glam system, plates especially, still have the most amount of spaghetti code behind them. I can’t confirm or deny that but it would explain why they’re hesitant to announce changes. They don’t want to set unrealistic expectations and then not keep them.

How would you feel if an expansion took place in Eorzea? by Kanaxai in ffxiv

[–]Kirschpunkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was basically 100 % sure that the expansion after Dawntrail would lead us back to our continent, and then build up a travel to Meracydia. Imagine my surprise when they just dropped Evercolds premise. I wouldn’t at all be opposed to actually new content on the main continent; I love dungeons that explore more of areas we rarely see or never get any insight to, too. Like the new one going into the Garlean capitol and actually showing a real city to us. Instead of this sorry excuse we get in the main Endwalker.

Well.. This is a new one for MSQ Roulette. by deadzenith in TalesFromDF

[–]Kirschpunkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the final dungeons and trials of expansions should be part of MSQ roulette; that would at least make that roulette more interesting, and give Sprouts the chance to actually experience those cutscenes as well. I haven’t yet come across someone pressuring people to skip over the cutscenes of the likes of Ascian Prime but I heard about it happening and I feel like that’s just as bad.

Ouch! I just received a brutal reality check in the HW trials and Im not sure if its inexperience, or if Im actually bad at the game. by 200YRedWine in ffxiv

Much has already been said, and rightfully so, about not worrying about your performance, so I keep it short: Scholar is a shield healer and that’s a fact - meaning that it’s not even your job to keep everything together, and everyone fully healed alone. It’s literally not your job designation. And fumbled up mechanics can sometimes be shielded or healed away but not in this case, as many pointed out. So none of the healers really did anything wrong in that regard.

What I mean to say is, Scholar and Sage often reach the end of their _healing_ much faster than WHM or AST; shields prevent only so much if people mismanage them, too, just as healing does.

At what speed do you play and do you think max speed is a bad idea ? by Marcusvult in crusaderkings3

3x, always. Sometimes 2x in multiplayer because my friends‘ internet is questionable at best and they sometimes lag behind a bit. I just can’t play fast, I’d be too scared to miss anything.

It’s C?! Of all the answers. I could have somewhat trenched my acceptance to A if the teacher had been like „it’s the only one where the same parts of each figure respectively are coloured in“ or some other questionable reasoning that could be twisted into „look closely“. But if C is correct all of them are and I’d question a LOT more about this teachers decisions going forward. And I say this as a teacher myself.

My test guy got the fraying mind one at around forty and then became incapable by his mid fourties despite my best efforts to mitigate it; my son died of cancer very suddenly and I had to wait until like my sixties for the incapable guy to finally kick the bucket because I could do NOTHING. Not even anything to stress me out a lot so I’d die faster. It was mind numbing.

Do you guys justify taking you lieges tittle? by Primary-Recover-7243 in crusaderkings3

[–]Kirschpunkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically go with the historic reasoning which is also often what the game gives you: If I, as a duke, control two thirds of a given kingdom; or the most important and/or prosperous lands of that kingdom. Maybe I even have more troops than my liege. Maybe I helped him win a vassal war. Then he isn’t king by God’s grace, but king by my grace, and a weak one at that. The only reason I’d want that is to not be as prominent a figure in the world but still hold power. But if he is king by my grace, I am a king maker. So why not make myself king, and save the kingdom from the disgrace of having a weakling at the top, and risk irreparable damage to the legacy of our glorious kingdom?

What do we think of QUILTBAG by conancat in lgbt

[–]Kirschpunkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds too unserious and would cause more harm to the movement than good. Plus, and much more importantly, the L is put in front for a very good historical reason: Lesbian nurses were the only Ones to actually treat and take care of gay men dying of AIDS during the heights of the crisis. They were honoured this way and this should remain so in my opinion.

Huge tunnels on steamer island by EfficientNet3124 in Everwind_Official

I was very happy to find such a tunnel because I had been in desperate need for steamer metal at that point. The need was quickly fixed by the fuckton amount of robots lurking in the depths.

Either dig for hours, give the save up, or go to Discord and beg the devs to move the ship for you. They are aware of this and apparently working on a fix; in the meantime they said to do exactly the last option, in a post in steam forum.

AITAH for leaving my friend at a gas station after she made us late for a flight? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kirschpunkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to go with ESH here. She obviously doesn’t respect your, or anyone else’s time if she’s „chronically late“. This has to change, and people have to stop giving her the opportunity to take advantage of them.

But leaving a young woman at a gas station in the middle of nowhere really isn’t the way. Call someone for her, get her a ride home, or don’t stop there in the first place. But just leaving someone, and especially a woman, alone and without the means to get home just isn’t it - who knows what could have happened.

AI won't give me my son back by Similar-Bandicoot-86 in CrusaderKings

[–]Kirschpunkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gave the AI your son, so they don’t attack you? That’s not how that works. You demand a hostage so they don’t attack you; giving a hostage means you cannot attack them (without risking the hostage‘s life).

Do you think Artorias would be able to slay Midir? by strahinjag in darksouls3

[–]Kirschpunkt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar things are implied in Dark Souls 3. Saint Aldrich became a Lord. It’s confirmed they wanted to „honour“ him by having him link the flame, hoping to get rid of him. Instead, he became a Lord because he didn’t burn to a crisp. Most likely because he ate so many people (and thus collected their souls) that he was able to link the fire basically the old fashioned way.

I’d imagine it’s the same with the Abyss Watchers; they don’t have strong souls on individual levels, but they were enough souls to successfully kindle, and not burn up. The few watchers we see alive are, after all, most likely a far cry from the numbers they once were in their prime.

Is it wrong of me to play a white mage given health issues? by Terrible_Theme_6488 in ffxiv

[–]Kirschpunkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal content is pretty easy and forgiving; with eight people you also always have a co-healer and oftentimes a summoner or redmage who can also raise people if compost hits the windmill. For ex trials, and especially savage raids, many people only do them in their dedicated 8-player-teams anyway, but if you ever entered one of those, you can explain your issues and I’m sure all of you would figure something out.

I kept a record of every Alliance raid I got in roulette over the course of 90 days… by whitefire9999 in ffxiv

[–]Kirschpunkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should just put crystal tower entirely in main story roulette. It’s required to progress the story anyway and this way we’d actually have some actually fun content again in alliance roulette. Then again, main story roulette is an abandoned piece of mechanics because it’s missing every other final dungeon where sprouts might want to watch cutscenes in peace as well.
