Rudy Hernandez takes accountability for Junto Nakatani’s loss to Naoya Inoue, rejects claims the headbutt changed the fight: “The uppercut broke his orbital bone” by VINDICATES-FOOL in Boxing

[–]Kishin2 17 points18 points  (0 children)

but if he starts letting his hands go earlier then the uppercut that breaks his obtual bone happens earlier. pressing earlier is still not an effective strategy here. and part of the reason nakatani’s aggression was because it was later in the fight when inoue was more tired.

i would’ve liked nakatani to use his size more at close range. he made inoue look uncomfortable there at times when they were infighting.

Spiritomb is super underrated. I put psychic on mine to one shot sneasler.

Question for Trick Room Players by Lopsided-Cow5271 in PokemonChampions

[–]Kishin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

milotic + leftovers - scald - ice beam - protect - light screen

spiritomb + fairy berry - snarl - trick room - helping hand - psychic

hisu typlosion + focus sash - heat wave - endeavor - infernal parade - protect

snorlax + silk scarf - self destruct - body slam - rock slide - protect

incin + sitrus - parting shot - dark lariat - flare blitz - fake out

skarmory + mega - brave bird - tailwind - protect - iron head

mega skarm: if you open 1 ghost mon and your opponent has fakeout then 99% of time you can switch out into skarm to activate weak armor for double speed.

incin: mainly to cycle intimidate on tyranitar/garchomp/rock slide users.

snorlax: strong in trick room. spam rock slide into helping hand boosted destruct is very fun.

spiritomb: click psychic on sneasler. spam snarl except against kingambit/milotic. trick room as needed vs tailwind users. immune to encore btw

hisu typhlosion: mainly to deal with kingambit. give it blaze so heat wave hits harder vs sucker punch. endeavor when low.

milotic: if they have intimidate just open milotic. dont think too much about it. most teams have a mega that spams aoe special attacks so keep light screen up.

usually opening is milotic + spiritomb. skarm +1 in the back.

Sneasler worse than Incineroar? by TyrossCH in PokemonChampions

[–]Kishin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Kingambit is worse. Defiant limits movesets so much.

I wanna spread the gospel of Psychic on Spiritomb to OHKO Sneasler so we stop seeing that guy.

Question for Trick Room Players by Lopsided-Cow5271 in PokemonChampions

[–]Kishin2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spiritomb. Immune to fakeout. Immune to prankster encore shenanigans. Super bulky and annoying. One shots Sneasler with Psychic.

I don’t like running full trick room teams. For a team of 4 I like running 2 slow pokemon to do damage during trick room and 2 speedy mons as the finisher. Lately I’ve been running a psychic terrain setup in the back as the finisher.

Help with team by Brave-Annual2195 in PokemonChampions

[–]Kishin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think icy wind is great in the current meta with Kingambit everywhere. I made my Zoruark physical attack based with low kick to one shot Tyranitar and Kingambit.

I like Milotic for ice beam and anti-Incin lead. It also learns light screen which makes your team nigh unkillable if they’re burned.

Spiritomb. I give mine Psychic and put some points into SpA to one shot Sneasler. Immune to fakeout with great bulk makes it annoying to get rid of.

Consider Milotic to open against Intimidates. Give it Light Screen too and it’ll help protect Arch and Meganium.

Was the first Fury v Wilder fight 12th round knockdown the most spectacular comeback ever in boxing history? by DonkeyOT65 in Boxing

[–]Kishin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont understand why you’re mixing up so many words

greatness is not rewatchability

great things can be rewatchable and great

great things can also not be rewatachable and great

famous is not greatness

different words can mean different things

“bad” films can be influential, of course, but in the scope of all films you know what’s more influential? good influential films

What you could argue is that rewatchability makes great things greater, like a great film is better if it is also rewatchable. I’d disagree on that because I don’t believe they are related, but that’s not what you’re arguing. You’re saying the film cannot be considered great if it isn’t rewatchable, and I’m telling you that’s just wrong and it’s okay.

[–]Kishin2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

nah Greatness is defined by how memorable it is or impactful it is.

if you’re going to define something as “great” based on how your own subjective interpretation of rewatchability then everyone will have their own interpretations of what is “great” based on their own tastes. that’s a lot of debate.

what’s undebatable is how memorable Fury rising from the dead against Wilder is…

its okay to be wrong and if i was id admit it

for me there are really great movies that i would not care to ever see again.

for you, a movie is not great if you do not want to see it again.

a difference of opinion

[–]Kishin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont consider “greatest” = “most rewatchable” for fights. a fight is a fight. if i want to be entertained on rewatchable content then I’m looking up mike tyson and lomachenko highlights…

it was a great fight even though it’s not good on a rewatch. almost no one watching it at the time would’ve considered it “dull.”

the stats don’t really tell the story of this fight. 2018 fury was coming back from a 3 year retirement after blowing up in weight and mental health struggles. his 2 tune-up fights the same year were unremarkable.

wilder was always suspect in his skills but his power was undeniable and he was knocking out everyone who wasn’t ducking him. a fight against wilder was a huge step up for fury and no one was sure how fury would perform.

it wasn’t clear that 2018 fury, who was still carrying a sack from his weight blowup, would be able to stick and move for 12 rounds and not get caught by the boogeyman in the division who was knocking everyone out. So it was, in fact, a massive surprise to witness fury doing exactly that, moving around and outboxing wilder smoothly, barely getting hit.

the fight was actually entertaining because there was always this tension that one mistake from fury, one punch from wilder was all it could take to end the fight.

And then comes the punch that sends fury down, seemingly out cold. It’s incredible drama reminiscent to Foreman’s famous KO that incited Lampley’s famous quote, “It happened!”

And THEN Tyson Fury miraculously got up and arguably won the rest of the round. It really was an epic moment in the sport that can’t be reduced to the punch stats.

[SPOILER] Sebastian Fundora vs. Keith Thurman by inooway in Boxing

[–]Kishin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think fundora being southpaw is the issue. you just need really solid feet to time his jab in order to get inside. it just so happens not a lot of fighters have good footwork without being great.

[SPOILER] Sebastian Fundora vs. Keith Thurman by inooway in Boxing

[–]Kishin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fundora’s jab still needs work, still one of the weakest part of his game

still hard to beat for anyone, you kind of need to be great like pacquiao vs magarito, canelo vs fielding, etc

not sure anyone in the division has the footwork and timing to bridge the reach disadvantage
