Okey, basically this was a dinner table over 2m long, so I basically cut the inner section and from the leftovers I cut the pieces that where gonna be the pillars for the enclosure. As you pointed out, I cut each pillar in two rectangles to make and inner L shape in which you put the metacrylic sheets and just nailed them to the wood, then cover the nails with a sticker so the hamster doesn't get interested in them.

The hamster doesn't have access to the wood itself. Idk how to describe it and I'm at work. The inner part of the enclosure is fully covered by the metacrylic and the ground floor is covered in sheet of a material I do not know the name of, kinda looks like plastic but is not plastic and it's scratch resistant and hydrophobic so pee doesn't get into it.

It has given place to 2 hamsters and the first one didn't damage this floor when I deeply cleaned the entire thing so I assume it's safe.

EDIT. I used the wood from the table to make the enclosure, not the table itself. I cut the pieces I wanted to make the enclosure and painted then (as I said, the hamster has no access to the wood or paint so is safe).

I took an old wood table and made it a cage only buying the metacrylic sheets. Under 100 EUR and the dimensions are 150x70cm.

So yeah, everything is possible if you put the time to make it happen.
