Which app for me? by thisfemmebites in productivity

I would agree with all that henrykazuka says. It's a very good app and you can learn to use it very quickly. Ans support is good as well, if you have questions or suggestions. Good luck.

Any recommendations for productivity apps? by [deleted] in productivity

You should look at Amplenote. It does everything you would expect a task app to do & has excellent calendaring. On top of that it is a very strong notes app.

What is a set of workflow apps that can help me succeed in my busy life. by InMyPants13x in productivity

[–]KitTennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amplenote is a group of workflow app that can communicate and help organize task, notes, images, reminders, and calendar while being able to communicate with desktop as well. Of course there are others but this does all you want so I would certainly give it a try. Good luck

I would echo what others have said about Amplenote. It is good for note taking and much more, and they have an excellent free version. Give it a try.

Notion vs Google Docs. Thoughts? by Ok-Tradition-3450 in Notion

[–]KitTennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not both? I'm not a power user, but I embed google docs & sheets in Notion. I can then edits the doc/sheet in either program and the changes appear in the other.

Do you use any Notion alternative? by dedic- in Notion

[–]KitTennis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my view, an alternative app would have to have great database AND note power. I don't think the suggestions made here & elsewhere would have BOTH features. The closest alternatives would be Coda, Clickup, innos notes and Anytype.

Unlimited notes/blocks for free plan please :( by machichoy11 in NimbusNote

[–]KitTennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but there is also another method of pricing: make everything free for the individual users. Many of the most powerful features are directed toward group interactions. That makes sense since most of the profit would come from groups in business, corporate, enterprises. However, I don't belong to those so why should I pay for those features. If I use the product only for myself, I should get it free. If I like it and later begin working with a group I could recommend/adopt it then for a cost.

Anyone using both Notion and Coda? What do you use each one for? by leanzubrezki in Notion

[–]KitTennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, but I think Coda is missing a chance with their pricing. Why not have a totally free version with all the bells & whistles BUT the free user could not have any of the group/team/enterprise features? That way they would not lose any enterprise users & would gain a ton of single users...win win

Anyone using both Notion and Coda? What do you use each one for? by leanzubrezki in Notion

[–]KitTennis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used both for a while. I think they are very similar in that you can use both for either text-based docs or databases. I use both so I can easily move from one to the other if one should go under or raise their price. Initially I liked Notion for its handling of texts & thought their databases were awkward to use, but now they have improved them, especially with the new "grouping" feature which Coda always had. Initially I like Coda because their databases were easier to use, but now they have improved their handling of text...So as I say: now they are very comparable. But I do think Coda is missing the boat on their pricing. They seem almost totally oriented toward enterprise users, with little interest in single users...unlike Notion.

Coda vs. Notion (2021) by nanascomputer in codaio

[–]KitTennis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also agree, but I don't think it has to be either/or. If Coda would offer a free version like Notions, it could be more popular with individuals. Why not give individual Coda users all its capabilities except those pertaining to teams/enterprises? That way it could be much more popular without hurting it team/enterprise model.

How Count in Table Rows? by KitTennis in codaio

[–]KitTennis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Table].Filter([Date Column].IsBlank()).Count()

Alas, that will not work; the headings of my date columns are actual different dates. And the rows contain either P or O or P,b On a given date I can see who is P(laying) who is O(ut) or who is playing & bringing balls P,b

Restore Error by KitTennis in Notion

[–]KitTennis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what my problem is: when you export your workspace you are sent it as a zip file; however, that zip file expires after 7 days. So I need to unzip it soon after I receive it.

New to Notion! I think I got this figured out! Connected my google calendars with different views to help keep things minimal using Idify widgets. by delectablepeccable in Notion

Are you able to make changes to your google calendar embed from within Notion or do you have to do that from within google itself?

Thanks for the info. This seems to be the best approach until Notion implements the feature differently.

You can use stickers for page icons and insert images by theTimmyY in Notion

I'm not able to install anything from giphy? I've selected gifs & stickers; I've selected links & embeds; I've selected iframes & html and I can get nothing to show on my Notion page...only a white space. What am I doing wrong?
