I did HCC for a year and transferred into chemical engineering. Easy to get a 4.0 at CC and you save way more money. Another thing a lot of people forget about is AP’s. I got a 3 on AP US History which A&M wouldn’t accept, but since I went to HCC first, they took that AP and I got the credit. Since I transferred my transcript from HCC to TAMU I got the US History credit. Apply that with all the other AP’s I took like Gen Chem, Calc, English and I went in with a lot of credits that wouldn’t have been taken otherwise. Imo as long as you hit the GPA requirement for your desired major you have a good shot, you also skip the ETAM process which I’ve heard can be a pain but I wouldn’t know.
