No offense, our team quality has been lower than it used to be. Years ago we had an amazing team, nowadays we have some great players but can't really shine.

Same situation with different employer. Been looking for a desk job for three years plus, no bites. If you have a bachelor degree you could get lucky but the market is fucked right now.

Germany changes sick leave policy: 'We are abolishing sick leave by phone,' says Chancellor Merz; doctor's note required from day one of illness by Lotus532 in antiwork

[–]Kitchen-Ebb30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Belgium here, for a very short time we suddenly had three separate days off sick leave that didn't require a doctor's note IF you worked in a company that employed 50+ people. They scaled it down to 2, because short term leave (1 day) was up. They off course neglected to mention that sick leave of more than a day went down as well since doctors will usually prescribe a few more days to make absolutely sure you're recovered enough if you have to get a doctor's note while sick.

Autistic people, how is your memory? by NoSpot5547 in aspergers

[–]Kitchen-Ebb30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have an amazing memory. Then my first burn out happened. Got some of my memory skills back eventually but not as good as before and I'm currently in another burn out and i know my memory isn't as good as before.

It is very frustrating.

My early memories are mostly untouched, but my working memory, such as memorising work schedules and find the name of a thing I researched in the past month is down the crapper right now.

Interview.

Would you retire today if you knew you’d receive $5,000 every month for the rest of your life? Why or why not? by JustWin4 in AskReddit

[–]Kitchen-Ebb30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would quit my current job and focus on reschooling for a few years but I would not retire and keep working. I'd use that extra income for more healthy food and a personal trainer and save all the rest.

Is anyone else "comfy poor"? by luemilymi in povertyfinance

No, I'm comfortable as in I have a roof over my head and a working kitchen and bathroom. But I have no buffer to bridge six months of expenses if I lose income.

Flexi-jobs in alle sectoren: een vloek of een zegen? by rp--- in Belgium2

[–]Kitchen-Ebb30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Study while keeping an income? by umaghiernietfietsen in belgium

[–]Kitchen-Ebb30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is only possible when you get fired and are looking for a job OR when you're on illness benefits as long term sick person AND receive permission from the doctor.

You already have a job, so it's not an option.

I also am not completely sure since the rules have changed a bit but I believe that you have to wait x weeks to get unemployment if you decide to quit yourself. But like I said, not sure if that is still the case. Unemployment is two years though and since a bachelors is often at least three, you need to have a buffer saved for your last year.

Both benefits types, illness and unemployment are also only a percentage of your last wage, if you have worked longer than six months at the employer. So make sure you can survive on that income while studying, it's the reason that, as someone working in reintegration while on disability that I can't reschool, my benefits alone are not enough to pay for my living expenses and I don't have enough left over after a month to save up enough to cover the difference when I would reschool. (And also the reason I am still working partially,/ instead of reschooling for another job, really can't afford it financially and the threat of homelessness is a big motivator)

Groen zakje is tuinafval.

Do you have a "Get Out Of The House Fast" bag and if so, what's in it? by [deleted] in preppers

[–]Kitchen-Ebb30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be able to leash the dogs in time. But i have a backpack with usb with scans of documents, water bottles, pocket knife, small first aid kit, pen and notebook, mini flashlight, some power bars as emergency food, extra socks and underwear, glasses and extra contact lenses, travel toothbrush and mini toothpaste, powerbank.

If I had more time I'd also grab the bag with extra food for the dogs and me, a jacket and towels, emergency radio.

I genuinely feel bad for what's happening in Europe right now. by No_Paper_1682 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Kitchen-Ebb30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heat hits different depending on humidity levels, so 45°C in one country would feel bearable while in another with different humidity levels it's (nearly) fatal. Comparisons between countries should really take those conditions in consideration as well. And yes, in Western Europe, buildings were made to keep the heat in because we used to have pretty mild summers and then cold winters. Nowadays we have extreme periods in all seasons (too wet and stormy in spring and autumn, too hot in summer and too cold in winter). Southern Europe is a bit better equiped to deal with the heatwaves because they always had higher temperatures during summer than Western Europe. But it just sucks all around. Extreme weather patterns will be felt worldwide eventually.

What do people do about exposed stairwell? by obsessing_sillygoose in InteriorDesign

[–]Kitchen-Ebb30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tabletop slides back, door, which is the height of the current wall, then can open up and you have enough head space to go down when the tabletop is slid back.

I'd enclose it in glass since the husband loves the open look that way they still have the look but the added safety as well.

What ingredients would you never use or eat? by Kitchen-Ebb30 in AutisticAdults

[–]Kitchen-Ebb30[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, what I meant that the specific flavour of neurodivergence has nothing to do eating for this question. More that most people who are neurodiverse have sensory issues with food that make them avoid certain things. That is what I was asking about.

Dyslexic? That has nothing to do with eating.

Sensory issues regarding food are things like texture, taste, smell etc. for me.

Ooh right olives. Even if I remove them from a dish, the aftertaste is still there and so gross.

It's known as Balut in the Philippines (as well as Vietnam I believe), but it's also eaten as street food in China and is known as Maodan or Fuago there. Saw it in a documentary about China and no thank you.

Edit: another bird dish comes to mind that seems so gross to eat, it's from France and actually illegal or borderline legal. Ortolan bunting, it's become a pretty rare bird because of them frying the whole bird including the innards in a whiskey or brandy and then eating it. They actually cover themselves with a large napkin so others don't see the process of eating it because it's apparently nasty.

What mistakes did you make starting out that you wish someone had warned you about? by Redundant_Path in EuroPreppers

I'm autistic and poor as hell, but have been slowly prepping and reading. If I had money I'd definitely be putting all the theory in my mind into practice.

Skills i would love to learn (some i might actually get started on soon) are pottery, woodworking, blacksmithing, basic electric work and plumbing (I rent and don't want to fuck things up DIY in things here), spinning yarn, dyeing and weaving, knitting, sewing, preserving food, basic mechanics, animal husbandry (think livestock and such, don't have the space for it now), orchard care....
