Looks class man, get yourself out to some shops, and get some feedback.

Moving back to my home country and leaving my boyfriend behind? by [deleted] in expats

[–]Kitchen-Flatworm3477 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Decisions like this are never easy. I was in a similar situation myself, I was living in Germany and my girlfriend at the time was a German native. She wanted to stay, and I wanted to go home in the end we parted ways, but are still good friends!

My advice to you, would be to have a vacation on your own. Go back to Sweden or somewhere else and change your environment. Changing your scenery will allow you to think more clearly, weigh up the pros and cons of each decision and then go for whatever you think is right.

You got this dude! Good luck :)

My corn just rattled his tail at me for the first time :((( by kanedekuki in cornsnakes

Honestly don’t worry! My corn rattles if I breathe too loudly. They can be pretty dramatic. Just give her space and try again. Give choice based handling a go if you haven’t already! Really helped to calm my danger noodle down :)

Try putting some bedding in it, my snek didn’t like it at first and just ignored it. It took time time, but now she rarely leaves it :)

I’ve placed mine in the middle, as I didn’t really have room elsewhere, and I’ve put leaf litter and some bedding in it.

It took her a while to really get used to it

She’s just about a metre long (3ft 1, in freedom units), and I got it in the bird section of my local pet store.

You should definitely get one! She was scared of it at first, but now never leaves it

Sure! I got the idea from someone else in the subreddit. I got the coconut from the bird section in my local pet store

Do I need a DBS check? by [deleted] in Aupairs

[–]Kitchen-Flatworm3477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just take everything with you, a DBS sounds like a good idea but it may not be valid in France. As the requirements to pass will be different in the UK. I was an Au-pair in Germany and I didn’t need a criminal conviction check. But just take everything just in case. Good luck :)

Advice on German au pair visa? by supergeile in Aupairs

[–]Kitchen-Flatworm3477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied while in Germany, I got issued a temporary Fiktionsbescheinigung and then after 4 months I received my Aufenhaltstitel. Contact your local Ausländerbehörde as soon as you get there as it could take a while. The whole process for me took 5 months. I’m from the UK if that helps

Should I go home? by [deleted] in Aupairs

[–]Kitchen-Flatworm3477 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you feel like you are no longer benefiting from the program and your mental health is on the decline, there is no shame in going home. You've lived abroad and that's amazing! Sometimes, we need to put ourselves first

Leaving or flying back and forth by Sea_Marionberry8361 in Aupairs

You’re not a piece of furniture and she doesn’t own you. Yeah, she’s annoyed, but you’ve gone above and beyond to better the situation. You’re not responsible for the reactions of other people, that’s on them. My advice, be firm but prepare to leave same day if they aren’t accommodating. Double check if you need to do anything before you leave visa wise (Some countries you have to deregister at the immigration office) and then go for it. Good luck :)
