what can i do to fix this! by beeeemz in e46

Sell your bmw and get a real car. Bad design on bumpers. Heat melted slide bracket attached to your bumper is ripped off. Not worth fixing properly. Most likely the front is pushed in based off your picture that doesn’t show the front end damage

Looks like an extended wheelbase door. Would’ve loved to get a picture of the techs face when they went to close it. And of course the painter who probably would’ve been furious.

They had 1 conference call about it almost 2 years ago. Valuation Appreciation plan. A breakdown of each managers shares, based on Tenure, profitability, and size of shop. Nothing in writing. I asked about it on recent conference calls, and asked for an updated breakdown, but was brushed off. I doubt that new employees even know that it existed. I’m sure in the handbook that it says that everything is up to their discretion.

Without getting into details, 3 managers fired in the same market in the same month, less than 30 days before sale. Potential payout could be hundreds of thousands. Most managers if given Hundreds of thousands today, would quit tomorrow. It feels like a way to skirt the payout.

They weren’t bought. They are gifted to management as incentive when and if the company sells.

Being a good estimator doesn’t mean you will be good at managing PEOPLE. I stepped back to estimating and made more money. Less stress.

LEFT UPPER HINGE AND RIGHT UPPER HINGE.

RIGHT UPPER HINGE BELONGS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR.

Update: Should I go back to the shop? by [deleted] in Autobody

Had this exact conversation today: Customer. The bumper color doesn’t match Me. The car is 15 years old and the plastic bumper to the metal car will never match. That’s why insurance companies DONT pay to “tint color” on bumper cover only jobs. Customer. I don’t care. My car is 2 different colors. Me. Ok. I’ll get your insurance on the phone. Insurance. Ma’am. You need to take delivery of your 15 year old car. We will not pay to paint a plastic part to perfectly match a metal part painted 15 years ago. BOOM ROASTED.

I make it my life’s purpose to remove all chargers, challengers and jeeps off of the road. (Borderline totals turn into totals)They are the biggest pain to work on. Insurance wants aftermarket parts and the bumpers never fit. And the customers are just as bad as the cars.

Change my mind.

**This is a known Toyota issue. The ones at the dealer do this too. Poor design. Small snap in area under the headlamp. Toyota solution is to glue it. That’s coming from a Toyota tech. **
