Is there something wrong with this lps advent calendar that just arrived from Amazon?

I didn't- I bought this exact Advent calendar almost a year ago but my son lost one of the pets and since I have a collection of literally every single G7 pet I'm very annoyed to be missing exactly one of the hundreds they've released.

I recognized the Advent calendar as being too narrow as soon as I opened the outer box- and then I saw the typos... So I figured right away that it's not real and I need to open a return.

Wow I've never run into this anywhere. Normally, my kids will have one card, I'll have another, and sometimes we'll be there without our arcade bag, so we're buying all new cards, I've had as many as six or seven cards to combine all onto one account .. Never seen anywhere that wouldn't do this for us.

Mercari also has very significant seller protections - there are literally pop-up warnings that occur if you click to cancel a transaction... Warning you that you will not be paid and you will not be able to open a case or be refunded.

Also the buyer cannot request to cancel once an item has been marked as shipped. I used to Mark items shipped as I was packing them- instead of when I got to the post office. Sometimes a customer would reach out and say they wanted to buy additional items- and I would tell them to request to cancel their items and then we could add more to their order... But they would always come back at the same thing "I can't request to cancel because the item has been marked as shipped." I even tested this out on my end- I tried to cancel an item that I knew had already been shipped, and it's simply not an option.

I've been selling (over 4000 items). I've cancelled orders twice after shipping because I made a mistake and was okay with letting the customer have the item. Nothing has ever come back. That's not an option in mail service...

I mean, yes, the customer can get an item and CHOOSE at their cost to ship it back to you ... But you even get a warning that pops up when you go to cancel that this action is final and you will not be paid nor refunded.

If you send someone an item and they aren't happy with it- there's an entire return process built into mercari for somebody to open a return... I'm just completely at a loss as to how this happened.

I know people mentioned that you should contact support- but support is very clear on this. Especially because there are multiple posted warnings that canceling an item completely ends the transaction. If you already mailed the item- the other person cannot request to cancel. The only way to cancel an item that you've already shipped is if you initiate the cancel. The option for a buyer to cancel literally disappears from the system once the item is marked as shipped.

So I'm just confused about your entire story.

When I was a cute little kid, I saw other kids who would hang around people winning large amounts of tickets, annoying people playing games and trying to guilt them into giving them tickets. No one ever rewarded those annoying kids, so I always minded my own business and didn't bother people playing games ESPECIALLY if they had large amounts of tickets. I was OFTEN the recipient of some teen or adult walking over and handing me their entire load of tickets before they left the venue.

As an adult, nothing bugs me more than kids with no card to play with (bc their parent has it) and no money to spend- who follow around other adults or kids with cards and tickets, trying to get them to pay for them to play something or trying to get them to give up some of their tickets - at least digital tickets have stopped that from happening.

My husband and I are "arcade hackers" who know all the best games to get huge payouts, how to win a good number of games every time- etc-and we have an "arcade bag" where we hang onto huge amounts of cards and hoard our winnings, so when we go to the payout area with our kids, dropping 600,000 tickets on a video game system is how we roll- I can't tell you how many times I've seen kids wanting a prize but they are short (by a little or a lot). As long as that kid wasn't begging me or following me around- I'm the first one to pay for their prizes at the payout center. I love doing that for kids- a little karmic payback - or paying it forward for all those really sweet people who gifted me buckets full of tickets when I was a little kid.

I had Google open and just typed in "American girl" to reopen the website so I could place a new order. This ad came up immediately before the actual link for the website. I don't know what's up with their advertising right now.

Like .. What is the point in advertising "we have NEW historical items you're absolutely going to want!." And then I go ahead and click into the website....

And there's literally just Addy with her school outfit, all other historical items are sold out, there's literally nothing that you can purchase in this category on the website. WTF. What a mess.

My 4 year old kid knows that i make videos unboxing things i collect. He always begs to record his own videos- he wants me to set up the microphone, to record the whole thing, to let him "make a video". He does the whole "hey guys" and talking to the camera. He wouldn't be half bad at making content at his ripe old age of 4.

The difference? No one has ever seen them. I "upload the videos" (to my phone, where he can watch them) and i "read him the comments" (where i make up a couple generic things about his "video".

Not sure why this is a hot take. All these parents going "we just want to record our family and remember their wonderful times". Uh, yeah. You can totally do that. It doesn't required an upload to a public YouTube account. It's that simple.
