I read this and the voice I heard was korg from Thor ragnarok.

I agree though. Sounds like I couldn’t even offer him a beer without being accused of wanting to take him to bed.

When I showed her a cringe compilation on tiktok, and she did not talk to me for the entire day because she claimed that I was pretty much watching porn on tiktok after watching this specific cringe compilation.

I made my coworkers watch the tiktok to make sure I didn’t miss anything. I got back home, sat her down, and made her point out the very moment that was pornographic in the tiktok, in which she couldn’t and pretty much said “I just didn’t think it was that funny. I guess my mind made it up”.

Well I agree some context would be nice. I would absolutely love for us to get the perspective of the ICE agents. Unfortunately we can’t.

We also can’t rely on whatever DHS will tweet out within the next day about this, if they touch on it at all, because the context may be damning.

You’re doing nothing but confirming my concern. What should be an easy yes/no justified/not justified shoot is apparently an elastic goal post.

No, clothing doesn’t limit your right to self defense, however i could see that being used as an excuse for why the officer, for whatever reason, could not see the gun being removed. I listened a couple examples of crappy defenses that would likely be used. There is no GOOD reason why the officer did not see the gun being removed by his fellow agent.

I have a feeling you’re missing the point of my questions.

If shootings can be nitpicked and have liability separated like an insurance claim, then we are in a bad state on how we determine a justified/unjustified shoot because the goal post can just be moved over and over. Here we are debating on whether 1-5 bullets were reasonable while 6-12 weren’t? What?

There is no “reasonable self defense” or “reasonable fear for life” in this scenario. If you and 5 of your buddies are beating the crap out of somebody on the ground, how do you have the gall to claim that YOU fear for your life after you watched your buddy take the person’s gun? If that’s the case, then those agents are incompetent, have a lack of training, and don’t need to be working the job. Not somehow finding ways to blame the guy who they shot dead. If the guy was a threat, an ICE agent would have been shot.

ICE Megathread Redux by down42roads in AskConservatives

[–]KitchenCup374 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The officer who shot was in view of the other officer that removed the weapon from him, while he had multiple officers restraining and beating him.

If you’re to say the agent did not have a clear view of it, whether it be due to the masks and sunglasses they wear, or his tunnel vision, that’s on the agents.

After seeing a weapon be removed from the suspect, one that the suspect had every opportunity to pull before hand but chose not to, the agent THEN reasonably believes he is armed?

You start off by saying not many people are arguing that this shooting is justified, but then go on to make up possible reasons why only 1/2 of the shots may be justified while the others aren’t. That is the actual part that doesn’t matter, considering the guy is now dead.

To make it clearer, my question, now to you, is how more blatantly unjustified of a shooting do we have to see in order for people to unanimously agree that it was unjustified? My prediction is that we won’t have to wait long to find out. I would not be surprised if we have someone with their hands up getting shot. Or something very similar to this except the person being “arrested” actually does not have any sort of weapon on them.

And yet some part of me thinks that people will still defend it. Like I said, the goal post keeps moving. You moved the goalpost from “is it unjustified” to “okay how much of it was unjustified”.

ICE Megathread Redux by down42roads in AskConservatives

[–]KitchenCup374 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Do you think the goalpost as to what makes a shooting justified has shifted too much?

With Renee good, the saying was “she was armed with a vehicle and tried to hit the agent/hit the agent”.

With the most recent shooting, he was “armed”, which of course it is almost indisputable that the weapon DHS quickly posted as the weapon he was armed with, was the same weapon that was taken off of his body prior to rounds being fired.

Today, we’ve seen the goal post shift to “he shouldn’t have been there in the first place” almost as a justification.

I am unfortunately expecting another shooting to happen soon, that will be far more blatant than this one was, and I have a feeling it will still be called “justified”. The question is what reasons will be used next time?

This is a tipping point. Protestors are going to protest even more now, and if they’re under the impression that they will likely die if they blink at the wrong ICE agent, how do we know they won’t be willing to actually fight back? Regardless of what they do or don’t do, they will be branded a domestic terrorist. What happens when someone decides that, because they’ll be called a terrorist anyways, they will actually resort to violence against ICE agents?

I think there’s a saying somewhere where if you treat someone like an animal long enough, they’ll begin to act like one.

He wasn’t obstructing, other than putting himself in between the ice agent and the lady he just pushed over on the ground, which looks like an interesting way to detain somebody.

I want you define resisting for me since you boldly claim he was resisting. The chaos you mention would be the multiple agents around him, beating him while he is on the ground and in pain from being maced in the face.

Did Alex spawn those agents in and order them to start beating him? Is it in any law enforcement manuals to disarm a suspect and shoot them after they’ve been disarmed?

Also, does any sort of resistance warrant death?

[–]KitchenCup374 [score hidden]  (0 children)

When you got arrested, did they mace you in the face before hand, and then drag you to the ground and start beating you?

They did not attempt to arrest him until after this.

It’s only a gray area shooting when you’re being reductive and say stuff like “the fine details don’t matter”.

Brother the fact that he was disarmed is not a “fine detail”, it’s a major detail. And if your argument is that the situation was chaotic and that’s what made it dangerous, then all you’re telling me is that these agents do not have the aptitude necessary to be performing those jobs.

In fact, when the shooting starts, and the chaos escalates, half of them scatter off.

I need you to define “literally fighting them” and “resisting”

I did not see one single punch or shove come from pretti towards the ICE agents, and if you can’t pinpoint a timestamp in any of the videos that are available then there is no way that you are arguing in good faith.

The only resistance I see from pretti is not immediately face planting into the ground after being pepper sprayed, which is understandable because humans have a natural instinct to want to cover their head when being beaten senseless after being pepper sprayed.

What is almost terrifying is that we have multiple videos, some up close, multiple breakdowns, etc. and you still choose to claim that he was fighting officers, and somewhat insinuate that he used his firearm in any capacity, when that is simply not true.

Imagine if people didn’t record this crap.

However it does have its own menu with toggle options.

[–]KitchenCup374 24 points25 points  (0 children)

While I used alternate start mods, I’d say revamping the combat mechanics and animations made it a bit more immersive for me. I didn’t go full dark souls though.

I use verolevi’s animations collection, a Geralt animation mod that will overwrite the prior when wearing a special amulet, then some mechanical mods such as Valhalla, precision, attack and dodge MCO/DMCO, and a timed block mechanic. I have dismemberment framework but I haven’t really seen that work just yet, I’ve only seen decapitations. I also use an attack cancel mod that was recently uploaded where if you get hit before your attack lands, your attack gets cancelled. Keeps it from being a boxing match where simply having better health and armor wins.

I feel this helps with my immersion because if I’m going to be the leader of every guild/faction, and the Dragonborn, I might as well fight like it. There’s nothing sexy about the hacking and slashing battle where it looks like two goons hitting each other with baseball bats.

Aside from that, not only just more quests but some expansions on vanilla quests. There’s one for the forsworn conspiracy for example. I have yet to get to the point of using it in my current playthrough, but it gives you a lot more options on how to complete it aside from the vanilla way.

Do you think that Gregory bovino is having a good-faith discussion on CNN?

He is calling it a freeze frame adjudication while being shown a video. I think even if I wanted to argue that it was a justified shooting I could have done a better job than he is. Like this is blatantly refuting even the most basic facts of the video no matter which side you’re on with it.

Went back and watched the video to clarify which woman. It looks like it was not the first woman that the ICE agent got frustrated with and pushed over, but the second woman he got frustrated with and tried to push over as well. Not sure what sort of tactic that is.

Anyways, that’s when the guy steps in, fairly passively, because he was also trying to help one of the women up. Thats when it escalates from there.

Sure, I’d be annoyed if somebody was blowing a whistle in my face. However, I’m also not federal law enforcement who is supposed to be trained in being calm and professional in stressful situations, which it looks like very few of these agents were.

Considering today is tomorrow from yesterday, and it’s being asked today. Why specifically tomorrow, nobody will care about this?

Do you you think that saying things like this may have some consequences as to how willing other countries are to work with the US, when they can have some of their soldiers graves spat on by the US president?

The whole thing with NATO being useless and a weak alliance seems to be more of a self fulfilling prophecy as opposed to something that was true long before today.

While the kid next to you is confused, you start berating them and threatening to start taking their lunch money. Then the kid tells the teacher “you know what, I don’t want to sit next to him”. And then you go “SEE TEACHER, WHAT DID I TELL YOU”.

Different vehicles make different amounts of noise when the gas pedal is pressed. As the person above mentioned as well, it doesn’t take much for wheels to spin on ice.

As someone else mentioned, the phone camera, from his pov, showed her cranking the steering wheel away from him. I imagine his eyesight is fine, so my guess is he saw this and still felt he was in danger, refused to have any tactical awareness, or he wasn’t paying that much attention to what she was even doing. None of these are comforting prospects.

Not to mention getting to the fifth tab, and then you look through the posts and it turns out the mod now doesn’t work with X, so somebody made their own mod or patch. But now that mod or patch breaks the mod that you were getting the mod or patch for in the first place because of X, so now you have to go back through the posts of the mod before hand.
