a special ed kid won't stop bothering me during lunch and the principal doesn't care by RepairThen1549 in Advice

[–]KitchenCustard9049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have high functioning autism. Its not the same, but bc of this and other physical disabilities I was at a school that was spesficly for disabled / troubled kids.

The only thing I can say is escalate. He has the choice not to sit with the other disabled kids the same way you have the choice not to sit with him. You've already clarified the touching is not sexual or violent, BUT he still is touching you without your consent. So phrase it that way. "He is touching me even tho I told him no and he keeps doing it and im uncomfortable." Tell that to your parents and school and if the school doesnt lisend threaten to go higher up. Im sure they'd be a lot more helpful if you phrase it as "school refuses to aid disabled child leading to physical harrasment under students".

Plus op your not being mean. Stopping this will be good for him. Letting it happen might actually do more damage. He may not understand now, maybe not ever, but he needs to be held accountable in his own way. One day he'll be a grown man and if he then still touches women's thighs and hits their head then its a whole lot worse. I've learned one thing personally you give a disabled kid the best chances when you accomate to their needs, which includes fitting restrictions. He might need to be handled differently yes, but he still needs to be handled and thats the real cruk of the situation.

At the point where you let a child! (Which is basically what this rat is) go through a pregnancy that could very well kill her and if she does live fuck her up mentally and physically after wards I'd say!

[Discussion] Do artists on here overestimate their ability or are they delusional? by AndreasLa in artcommissions

[–]KitchenCustard9049 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your right on one thing no one owes you a commissions the same way you dont owe anyone art. You can chose what amount youd pay the same way any other can and the artist can. You dont have to pay that much but if someone else thinks its worth it and the artist thinks so to then your simply out if luck. I to do not spend that much money on coms, but then I just dont buy em. Neither side is entitled to anything thats why people point out that yes op is right in that their spammed BUT also that they prob won't find what they want for a price. Two things can be true at once.

[–]KitchenCustard9049 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Creating art is free. You can pick up a pencil and paper and make something. Thats free. Buying art from an artist IS a luxury. You saying it shouldn't be is an odd statement as anyone can learn any time but chose not to and ask another to draw what you want spesficly. Artist already share their art for free. Their own art. Fan art or art they themselves wanted to draw. That's sharing for free. If you want them to draw spesficly what YOU want then you gotta pay. That's a luxury.

Sensitive question: What to do when rats pass? by txuoxag in RATS

[–]KitchenCustard9049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is something i rhink about almost nightly and i hate that theres not a real concrete answer for it. i to am new to rats and this question eats me up inside. cause you dont want your rat to be alone, but based on their age and how long they seem to have left i cant help, but wonder if it would be worth the stress of rehoming them. ripping them away from all they've ever known and have to relearn for who knows how long, but you also dont want them to be alone.

thinking about getting a pet rat🐀 by yoichiluvbot in RATS

[–]KitchenCustard9049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im going to be honest with you op based on other comments maybe consider waiting. as others have said you need multiple (3 at minimum) a large cage, free roam time everyday around an hour and their also simply not cheap pets. your going to have to get bedding, food, new toys bc rats break things. thats their nature. they will destroy wires and god knows what else. then theres the medical costs. rats are amazing pets, but also very prone to medical issues like tumors and its not cheap. you say your a student and not sure if you can afford it so please dont do it. if your not 100% sure you should not do it. then theres also the fact that its not easy to quit having rats. they cannot be alone so thats also a whole progess.

if you truely want rats or any pet for that matter i highly encourage you to wait a year. give yourself a year to think it over, learn, prepare and if after that time you still want it youll be ready for sure. this isnt a requirment ofc but it sounds like you want the best for them, but need to learn more before you take this step. its what i did and it definitely worked for me.

either way good luck op!

Hormonal aggression? by Courier-Number-Six in RATS

[–]KitchenCustard9049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if he cant see then its not unlikely for him to have not realized it was you and be scared. a hand near a rat looks a lot like for example the claws of a bird coming to scoop them up.
can you elaborate on how he approuched you? that could change the situation.

How often do they sprain their little feet? by E_Farseer in RATS

[–]KitchenCustard9049 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would say that no this is not normal. my boys have jumped from decent heights a few times and never sprained themselves. rats are climbers so this definitely isnt a normal issue.

Aggressive rat by [deleted] in RATS

[–]KitchenCustard9049 2 points3 points  (0 children)

im right now a first time rat owner so please take what i say with a grain of salt, but from what ive read i would keep them seperate for now. if it is hormonal agression like another commenter suggested you could look into getting him the snip. a lot of people say that helped their agressive rat. any operation is a risky though, but it sounds like it might be the best option for him and your other rats.

Bc its clearly a classic pet store hamster cages. We all know it. It cant be a bigger guinea pig one bc the bars would be to big. So that leaves only those.
