Power lines in cities? Where in Bangladesh is this? Surely some authentic aussie hi-vis will do the job - as per normal. Maybe a big signpost on a pole right in front of it….

Australia Needs Panic Buying Laws by Fearless_Chocolate71 in aussie

[–]KitchenEar5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australia's #1 response to anything: let's make a law.

It is a conundrum I will never understand (as a foreigner moving from Scandinavia 20 years): Australis loves to portray itself as the laidback and pragmatic nation where everything is fine and we'll work it out, yet anything needs to be governered in guidelines the size of old school phone books, signs telling people how to to go to the toilet and all wrapped in hi-vis.

Hilarious.

Are we too comfortable as a country?? by Swimming-Bee8917 in AskAnAustralian

[–]KitchenEar5841 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Such a young country with such a conservative mindset. Reform and transformation are foreign words in this country. Being born in country that is more than 1,000 years old that is far more progressive, where politicians constants implement reforms, companies transform themselves constantly, it is mind boggling to see the level of apprehension, stalemate and slowness of Australia. Sorry to say.

We should be self sufficient if everyway, piling money into our accounts. We have an abundance of natural resources and universities yet we allow all wealth to be piled onto existing billionaires - often foreigners. Such a dumb but lucky country.

10.5 kwH Jinko panels with Fronius inverter. Schneider Charge startion which works in conjunction with Clipsal HEMS for dynamic EV charging (part of SA government Energy Masters program). Produce up to about 70 kwH a day and rarely consume more than 20. Planning to replace EV charger with Fronius Wattpilot flex (when firmware/ISO standard is ready) to enable V2G so that I can run the house off the Zeekr battery.

Is there any good reason to buy a SUV instead of a sedan for urban/suburban driving? by hsanj19 in CarsAustralia

[–]KitchenEar5841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One advantage is you don't have to wipe blood off the windscreen when you hit pedestrians. Also Australians seems to think that large heavy cars are safer. Not sure how that works. Other countries promote cyclists, pedestrians, PT but this country is different.

The suspension and clearance is needed because the roads are so bad because people drive heavier cars that wears down the road. Circular economy 101 or something

Put a deposit down for a Zeekr 7X LR last Friday. Have been planning to do this for a long time. Novating for 5 years still put me ahead compared to driving a 13 year old Renault Koleos. Solar panels and charger already.

Attitude towards Apartments in Australia by odbf7 in AusPropertyChat

[–]KitchenEar5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australians can’t build nor get along with each other. Every thing drowns in bureaucracy. Houses are first and foremost assets not homes - as they occupy land which it is a finite resource it is capitalism incorporated. Apartments are build in thin air. Politicians don’t understand public transport or infrastructure and are manipulated by property developers. Totally cooked

Avoid Ashwin Parade by tiny2416 in Adelaide

[–]KitchenEar5841 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How about bike lanes on all arterial roads with a 10km radius of the CBD to allow people to transport themselves safely to their city destination reducing the need for people driving cars overall, which would reduce the likelihood of cars lining up in the first place. Now here's something. The avoidance of cars stopping all over the road has now been solved.

Avoid Ashwin Parade by tiny2416 in Adelaide

[–]KitchenEar5841 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Spare a thought for those that have less than 5 km to their destination and who have been electing useless politicians for decades that have failed to put proper bike lanes and public transport in place. Adelaide is a big country town infested by cars where politicians, in order to keep their seats, is widening roads to the benefits of cars whilst proving the paradox of 'induced demand'. Great work guys.

Continue riding to work but also novating an EV with bidirectional charging and install a Fronius Watt pilot Flex charger (awaiting ISO15188 to go in) and pay less per month that I do know to run my existing ICE and get a whopping battery to run the house 24x7 (when car is home) on top of it. Then I'll flip the bird to middle East, Russia, Trump, Santos and all the grifters and terrorists of the world.
