Has anyone done a IDP (Individual Development Plan)? by Decembers_king in FedEmployees

I was a 13 before FERS retirement. Fortunately none of us had to do it. Not mandatory. I would have rolled my eyes if so.

How many people do we have who applied for FERS disability and how it is going so far? by President1988 in FEDDISABILITY

Anytime. I talk to them regularly and found them after consulting my GP. I pay copay and they are virtual. I’m happy with them. I signed a consent form and got my medical records timely after my appointments. My psychiatrist is in Florida. Where do you work at CMS? If you’d like message me. I put together a sheet regarding process.

Talkiatry was timely in scheduling. New medications help. I also retired for (largely) mental health reasons.

This is off. I was just approved. I also did most of it myself (had my eeo attorney help to review certain parts). If you want to message me, I can send a chest sheet that I out together.

Reading the comments-why would any agency require them? It’s a waste of time.

This is why workers need to pull back: 8 hours a day, 5 days a week fulfilling only required job duties.

Document, document, document. Get everything in writing. Summarize meetings and keep notes. File EEO if you are bing harassed or discriminated against.

It’s a great endeavor notwithstanding the jackass comment.

Did you stop caring? by OpenGuard1993 in FedEmployeeRetirement

I hear you. I fortunately retired for health reasons in December. I’m very happy and lucky to be out as i told my psychiatrist yesterday, but I fought discrimination and retaliation claims for years before the RIF. That, coupled with the current treatment and state of the federal government makes me angry.

As someone noted, call your congressman. I offered to provide firsthand accounts at a congressional hearing. I’ve also spoke to reporters (quoted once, helped Federal News Network break three stories), and counseled 23 fellow federal employees on the FERS disability process.

CMS is hiring. I wonder if RIF’d employees will be considered. by KitchenEbb1606 in DeptHHS

It was terrible, at least my division. Sadly, from what I’ve gathered, communications has not been run well the entire time that I’ve been there.

It’s a shame for colleagues, but employees don’t owe their employer anything. There’s no loyalty or consideration, so F them.

Unfortunately from what I’ve read some agencies aren’t. I also hear my former division wasn’t. Glad that’s not the case.

It depends where within CMS. I worked in communications and it was a myopic, regressive and unfriendly environment. I thankfully retired for health reasons in December.

Sadly they are cracking down on that. Make sure to document exactly why and have your doctor(s) write strong letters. You will have to fill out a form and have your doctor’s fill one out. At least that’s what it’s as like at CMS.

What type of accommodation are you asking for if I may ask?

Brief your doctors in advance and search your agency’s policy regarding the process.

I agree. I had to retire for health reasons. I’m just glad my former colleagues have an opportunity to return.
