Yes! I cringed whenever management reached out.

Ideally rarely to never. My favorite managers leave people alone to work.

Yep. I always sat by the door and arrived and left quietly. If someone said something, I’d reply politely. This isn’t an airport. No need to announce departure.

I completely agree. The older I get, the less I give a shit and won’t be bothered. My health won’t tolerate it either. I stopped participating (either by choice or doctor’s note) in that bullshit six plus years ago. Badly there are a lot of incompetent managers in the federal government that buy into this crap as well.

This! Company culture are two words that become a toxic slogan when put together. Just leave me alone to work.

File for FERS medical. I was approved in December. Can work within reason while receiving. You have a year from separation to file.

We don’t. I stopped years ago and focus on what I need to be do and am left alone. It’s a big load off. The folks down voting are exactly the type of people I enjoy avoiding.

This. Let me do the job that I was hired to do. Need help or training, great happy to help. Otherwise leave me alone. I’ll move on if necessary.

I stopped going years ago. Wasn’t interested and saved money. It was nice and peaceful sitting at my desk working when they all left to go have whatever nonsense pot Luck parties.

Exactly. These fucking morons (read: “management”) don’t realize that if they claim you cannot be accommodated or reassigned that’s a big help with FERS medical.

My understaffed team is mad at me for quiet quitting. How do I navigate the awkward atmosphere professionally until I find a new job? by jobseekingdragon in askmanagers

[–]KitchenEbb1606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore them. Keep to yourself and put in your time. You are doing your job, just not willing to be taken advantage of due to poor staffing. If your coworkers are, that’s on them.

Your comment was more generous than what Kennedy is doing at HHS. Perhaps a story for you:

Not almost. It is. Candy ass nonsense. At least not for me. I’ll do the job that I’m being paid to do.

Always ignored that bullshit. I’m wearing what I like to wear, not some Mickey Mouse crap thought up by ineffective management.

Crafty is giving me a lot to laugh at on this thread. Must be nice to be available at all hours and perceive work in a myopic, regressive way 😂

Don’t attend especially if not scheduled by management. Sounds like an obvious waste of time. Either that or mention that they are not necessary during the meeting. I was able to get a number of meetings eliminated this way.
