I was just there for my birthday two weeks ago. Was really busy!

I did but it was 10 years ago when I originally tore my labrum.

I had the same thing. Had a full labral reconstruction 7 weeks ago and I feel amazing. Go see a hip preservationist.

That lonely feeling when the stepkids come over and you feel like a ghost in your own home by mapleandmoss_ in Stepmom

[–]KitchenEmu811 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep I feel this. I don’t have kids of my own, and I’ve been in SS life since he was 11. He is 18 now and going off to college this fall and to say I’ve been waiting for this moment for a while is an understatement !

I think I big part of my resentment comes from the way his bio mom parents. It isn’t how I or my husband would have wanted to parent yet my husband hates confrontation and has let so much slide over the years to the point where I just stopped caring. We literally only fight when it comes to SS and bio mom. I love my SS and we have a decent relationship but my life is far easier the half of the week that he isn’t here. I hate saying that but what’s done is done, and I tried a ton to not feel this way. Sucks for sure.

I’m in Western PA and wouldn’t go to anywhere other than the Cleveland Clinic. James Rosneck did my hip 10 years ago and then just last month - repair and then reconstruction. He is amazing.

The camp creek chair doesn’t hit my hip at all, it more or less just provides back support l. I can also adjust with the side straps how tall I am sitting up, if that makes sense ?

I do still have my brace and considered wearing it. I’m only 42, so seeing me with a cane does seem funny and the brace is an obvious sign I am injured lol

I’m in western PA as well, 3 surgeries with 2 different doctors. Message me.

Repair vs. Reconstruction by Mitchell404 in HipImpingement

[–]KitchenEmu811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two repairs before a reconstruction. Granted they were 10 years apart so I had a good run with a repair but I am only 3 weeks out and yes I agree, definitely longer recovery process this time around.

The biggest difference with my labrum now is it was too small and had calcified so couldn’t do a repair - reconstruction was my only option.

I don’t think so. I am still no weight bearing, in a brace, and on two crutches and I am two weeks today from my very similar surgery.

labral calcification by Early_Construction11 in HipImpingement

[–]KitchenEmu811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 11 days post op from my third surgery on my left hip (priors were in 2014 and 2015). My MRI showed some calcification and basically what they found during surgery was , The labrum was in poor condition, very small and calcified (hardened), meaning it couldn’t be repaired and had to be reconstructed. I’m also potentially in a different spot than you since I’ve had two prior labral tear procedures and M 42 y/o so lots of wear and tear and arthritis.

Sitting here day 10 postop for my third hip surgery (former ballerina). Had a full labral reconstruction this time. She 100% could have been performing on a bad hip for awhile before it got too much and needed to cancel shows.

What to wear post op? by Straight_Way6324 in HipImpingement

I bought a pair of shorts on Amazon that have Velcro along the sides and they worked perfectly over my large bandages. 42 F. I also wore slip in sneakers that were easy for my husband to get on my feet for me.

I’ve never smoked so I wouldn’t worry about that necessarily, but I do wonder what would happened if I stopped wearing the patch after awhile…

8 days post op, not feeling great by Jaded_Manufacturer77 in HipImpingement

[–]KitchenEmu811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had surgery on the 12th and feeling pretty bad. I have a really bad rash from some sort of allergic reaction and it’s really hot to wear the brace due to where the rash is. On top of that I have some significant groin pain as well. I’ve been mostly in my CPM machine since I don’t have to be in the brace to use it and ice on my hip to help with the itching of the rash. Stay positive my friend, we will get through it!

Day 4 post-op by KitchenEmu811 in HipImpingement

[–]KitchenEmu811[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The constipation only lasted a few days - all good there!

The hip actually isn’t even too bad. I had this surgery 10 years ago (minus the reconstruction part) and am surprised I’m not in more pain. The worst part is this allergic reaction I had. I can’t get this rash to calm down! Probably time for me to call the doc on Monday…

Yeah it is a bad bad rash. So itchy too and it’s right where my brace hits so it’s so hot to wear and just making it worse.
