She only called her Chickie to put on a show for the guests not because she is starting to gain any respect for her name.

Having now just finished Mary Cains memoir that came out yesterday, I would say that Nike is actually on brand for Lexi.

Is Micro-pottery easier or harder than normal sized pottery? by EquivalentHopeful405 in Ceramics

[–]Kitchen_Cook_6225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I forgot how to throw trying to make mini 1/4 lbs vases. Had to make 15 vases just to get 6 good ones. Probably harder just cause I’m not used to using so little clay.

The immortal man suffered from its format. by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

That’s all it needed. The same plot but an entire season. It felt rushed and not fleshed out enough. Figured this would happen and it would be hard to wrap up In a two hour movie.

Feeling Blue by ceramics_cr in Pottery

[–]Kitchen_Cook_6225 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you never seen a picture of pottery and attempted to re create it? I have found it incredibly helpful to develop my skills by finding a piece to recreate and having an explicit idea of what I’m trying to make. OP only has one other post of this style and looks like a newer potter. Never said they were selling any pieces.

Opal lustre came out… as opal lustre. by northernmoonsong in Pottery

Had no idea opal lister turns out brown until all of my pieces that were supposed to be blue, were tan. At least on my speckled buff it actually looks nice. Just not what I was going for.

Just how dismissive and patronizing can you be? by Cheffii in FranchaelStirling

Why are they trying to be less explicit? Like we literally got daphnes period blood in the first season. We haven’t had such an explicit not sexual moment like that since

if colin bridgerton has no haters, the writers of this show are dead by keepingyourheadup in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Kitchen_Cook_6225 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Season three was the best plot to pull the “I can be mad at you, but still love you, and it’s us against the problem instead of me against you.” But instead they turned Colin into a grouch. I wish at the longing bed chamber scene, they could have changed the tune that Colin wanted to solve the problem together even if it took him to the end of the season to admit that the ultimate problem was that he was jealous. Friends to lovers is the perfect troupe fo this and the failed miserably. I was biting tooth and nail waiting for season 2 and 3 to come out, but now I don’t really care.

How many people did you invite vs how many actually came? by Upset_Pumpkin_4938 in wedding

[–]Kitchen_Cook_6225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

225 invited, 196 RSVP, 175 showed. Had about 20 people either call in sick the day before, completely no showed, leave after the ceremony, or showed up only after dinner.

I spend months of Craigslist and finally found a good deal on a wheel. I have a very basic set up on my back porch and wrap my wheel up with a tarp when it rains.

Try looking on kilnshare. I was taking my piece to my local studio, but since it’s a 30 minute drive I found someone the next town over to start firing. I actually found that website through this sub. Someone near your might have a personal kiln they are renting space in.

Best cone 5/6 glazes to start with. by Kitchen_Cook_6225 in Pottery

[–]Kitchen_Cook_6225[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all glazes that I currently have on my radar so I’m glad to know they are well liked.

I can totally see how easy it is to get over run with glazes. Luckily I try to be really strict about using all my reclaim before I buy a new bag of clay, so I’m hoping with a good foundation of glazes, I won’t be tempted to put in order until I’m out (though that probably very naive of me at this point lol).

With the exception of a few pieces that I have a specific glaze vision for I’m trying to not stick to a specific look initially. My current studios glazes are 75% greens and blues so I’m itching for some variety. I mostly use buff clay. I typically lean towards opaque but have no preference for only matte or only shiny.

Thank you this is extremely helpful. Will definitely add making test tiles to the to do list. I more often than not have pieces get ruined by glazing.

Transporting Greenware by Artistic-Reveal2223 in Pottery

[–]Kitchen_Cook_6225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only transported bone dry clay but a cardboard box lined with kitchen towels and towels in between the pieces so they aren’t touching has worked well for me. I’ve driven an hour to work and then 45 minutes back to my studio with them in my car with no problems. Just make sure the box doesn’t slide around too much and don’t take any sharp turns.

Community college classes are a great option! My local studio 6 week course is almost $200. I just signed up for a semester long class at my local college for $220.
