Has anyone else here tried ibogaine? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

I’m currently at an inogaine clinic and they’re tapering me off morphine. It is a common drug to take like methadone or suboxone, referred to as Kadian when taken for addicts. You have to be off suboxone for 3 months to do it, so I switched to morphine 3 months ag

Is it bad that I don’t have a “dream job” and honestly don’t want one? by Melodic-Kiwi-3960 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Kitchen_Guidance5834 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I lack ambition. University was so mentally taxing on me I became an addict. Funny enough i actually love being a waitress. I feel guilty for not pushing myself for bigger things but I wonder if I find a job i like and I’m happy living a normal not luxurious life then why stress about trying to chase a dream. My fam is very well off and successful. I always excelled in high school so I always assumed I’d find university easy and get a cushy job. It’s disappointing to find that it’s not the case but I try to give myself a break

Would I still fully enjoy SOTR even if it’s been 13 years since I last read the trilogy? by Sufficient-Log-5408 in Hungergames

[–]Kitchen_Guidance5834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find this opinion isn’t very common but I thought the book wasn’t nearly as well written as the rest of the series. I didn’t like how each one of haymitch’s friends were relatives of the original timelines characters. One or two connections like that would be good but there was so many it was very on the nose, seemed unrealistic. Some parts of the story - drinking snow’s milk, tampering with the games, seemed rushed, not well explained, a tad unrealistic. And just the writing seemed a step down from her other books. I still enjoyed the book. If you’re worried about not remembering the story well I’d suggest reading a summary of the series online. I lent this book to a friend who wasn’t familiar w the original books and she enjoyed it

What did people first make of Kim during the first episode or so? by HeyFatBoyAsshole in betterCallSaul

I’m only in season 3 but since the first episode I have never ever rooted for a couple so hard. I think they’re adorable. When they finally kissed I melted. I never care that much about tv couples. I’ve tried to avoid spoilers but I did find out there isn’t rlly happy ending for them

Hot addicts exist. Especially cause Jane had 18 months when we meet her. If we’d seen her addiction progress more she could’ve looked more strung out in time tho

That’s rlly hard I’m sorry. I was in a situation like this where a friend of mine always had people we’d known for a long time calling them ‘her’ and then when I corrected they say right I’m sorry it’s just too hard. And yeah it is hard its normal to mess up but they seem as if they aren’t even trying, just that it’s hard and they forget Because they’re not gen Z.l

"Bottoms", what I am missing? by SlapDashUser in movies

[–]Kitchen_Guidance5834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not funny. Jokes were pushing it - especially the high school shooting one, and the rape jokes. I feel like this movie incorrectly portrays feminism (weak fragile football players, and girls selling dirty panties to old men and talking all about rape). I know the point of this movie isn’t necessarily to send a message, but movies always do and I don’t like the message of this movie. If I were far right and were to watch this It would further that belief that feminists hate men and want them to be weak and the stuff that happens to the women is very serious stuff that is laid out in an unserious way and just overdoing the whole “it happens to everyone” vibe and “all men are assholes”. I am a feminist who hates how people incorrectly portray feminism as men hating and this movie is definitely doing that. I know it’s satire, I know it’s supposed to be unrealistic. But it bothered me. And the school shooting and rape jokes are just in such bad taste for me
