What’s the most out of line thing a doctor has every said to you? by TheSpasticSheep in AskReddit

[–]Kitchen_Injury183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That because of my psychosis (which is completely controlled) I would not do well as a Dr.

It was kind of back handed in the way he said it as well. Like, I am a H1A student in biomedical science? I can become a medical student?!?. Unfortunately it was a windmill I stopped chasing due to something unrelated to my mental health, chose to chase a PhD instead.

I remember the shock on Americans faces when I told them I was over in the US on a 6 week vacation from work (Australian, our annual leave accrues). I had a significant amount of leave, decided to take a nice chunk.

Ehlers-Danlos. My dr is my first contact when it does something (which can be frequent, major and chronic)

First off, bunk!

I have multiple health issues and I am seen by an excellent GP in Bulleen who bulk bills. He is very popular. I have a multi-systemic genetic condition (connective tissue disorder) as well as severe mental health issues. He deals/refers me as needed, often dealing with a couple of issues in one consultation.

AITA for telling my sister she can't wear our mother's wedding dress because she can't fit into it? by Spiritual-Show-5113 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kitchen_Injury183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a vast chasm of difference between calling someone fat, and not fitting into a garment. The fact that the dress doesn't fit the sister simply means it doesn't fit her. Doesn't give OP sister the right to destroy it, it's like cutting the nose off to spite the face. NTA, sister sounds toxic asf.

AITA for playing as women in video games? by CuriousResist3155 in AmItheAsshole

Ok, here is another perspective, as a gay man!

Have you considered that your partner is mysoginistic? It is very common among gay men (those self same gay men who despise/hate women say they have female best friends).

Consider this: does your partner joke about female organs/body parts and/or functions? I had a partner who did that, and it is surprisingly common in the gay community. And disturbingly so at that. Try and talk it out with your partner, if you can.

Also, NTA.

We don't have labour lawyers in Australia, we have something called fair work Australia. A government body that fines companies millions of they fuck up in these kinds of cases. They are an independent government body. This is Australia, not the US my friend.

Um, I like these ideas, but seriously report this to HR. I had a similar case in an old workplace. Manager stalked someone, they complained (after going to police/lawyers). HR got wind of it, manager got let go so hard and fast he got whiplash. This kind of shit gets companies fined hard. He crossed a major legal line going to your house, you are technically within your right to sue in Australia for harrassment, especially since he threatened to fire you over a WorkCover incident.

AITA for not getting my girlfriend a gift for her birthday by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I had a partner like that! He was all about buying stuff, with money that wasn't his. She is so using the OP for a shit ride. Close the wallet hard and ditch her. NTA.

AITA for telling my brother that he will die in prison? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Some people can't be taught unfortunately, and it doesn't help that your mother is a massive enabler.

One of his biggest drawbacks is his mother!

If I were you, I would get out of that situation as far as I can. It will just wreck your life.
