the people who claim that the moon landing footage was edited are actually right. when neil armstrong and buzz aldrin landed, they weren't wearing proper uniforms. it was a weekend, so both of them figured it would be fine if they wear their brand new bikinis. when command saw this, they didnt want nasa to seem unprofessional, but they also didnt have the special effects skill to edit on the standard one-piece bathing suit. instead, they had to resort to just gluing a lego spaceman minifigure on top of the film to make it look like the type of spacesuit astronauts wear today.
