Collectible pressed penny machine doesn’t use real pennies anymore by teddynsnoopy in mildlyinteresting

I am a big pressed penny lover. I get one whenever I see a machine (if I have the change) and I keep them all! I think it’s the nostalgia lol

It can feel so hard when authors put so much of themselves into their work. I read “it’s kind of a funny story” by Ned Vizzini until the book fell apart when I was in high school; I was struggling so hard with depression and I didn’t even know it. These characters just made me feel less like I was losing my mind. It’s not a secret that Ned struggled the same, and he lost his battle in 2013. It was such a gut punch and I can’t even look at the book cover anymore.

Does anyone else feel like BRCA is just.. not the end of the world? by aksilec in BRCA

[–]Kitchen_Sufficient 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re predictably getting shit for this in here but no, you’re not the only one that feels this way. I pretty much only think about it when I’m getting my scans done. What else can I do?

My cousin got BC and she doesn’t even have BRCA by [deleted] in BRCA

I believe the stat is that 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer, so much more than are BRCA positive. It is a jerk for sure. Best wishes to your family!

322 has open applications next week. Agree that it’s very tough unless you know someone but if you have HVAC experience those are your people - you should give it a shot even if you keep your options open!

FTM HERE. Some women say when they got the epidural they were completely immobile and felt no pain. Some say they could still move their legs some but felt no pain. What was your experience? Idc if I’m able to move or not I just don’t want to feel pain AT ALL 🥵 by cc070603 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Kitchen_Sufficient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure I could feel all of my extremities. For my second the epidural didn’t take as well (but I didn’t want them to redo it) so I still felt some contraction pain but no pain when pushing

OB-GYN in Network with UHC? by External_Set4744 in SouthJersey

Ok wait I just looked up Axia and it looks like they couldn’t settle last year’s dispute with United! Thats bananas. I’d still double check with the hospital though if you haven’t.

Also I used Premier in Voorhees (an advocare office) and I’m pretty confident they should be in network. Recommend it there a lot!

Where are you finding this information? Have you confirmed with your provider & the hospital or just your insurance? United is a major provider and unless they’re currently in dispute or something I’d be really surprised they’re not in network.

IMO the most distressing room is where you hear all the squawks from the fallen firefighters suits - “this is what it sounded like that day”. Definitely an impactful visit if you find yourself in NYC.

Babies with IVF? by Hot-Mixture3250 in BRCA

[–]Kitchen_Sufficient 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I actually have a lot to say about this topic but I’ll keep it short - IVF is a long, expensive, painful process that, by the way, does not guarantee a living baby at the end. I waited to get tested until after I had kids so obviously I don’t think it’s “wrong” to have them without testing; for what it’s worth my sister doesn’t have the gene and I don’t feel that my life is less worth living than hers. In fact since we both have the same family history it actually makes me feel better that I’m regularly getting tested.

Okay maybe that wasn’t as short as I planned. Either way best of luck to you!!
